Publisher's summary

With its breathtaking vistas and down-to-earth people, Thunder Point is the perfect place for FBI agent Laine Carrington to recuperate from a gunshot wound and contemplate her future. The locals embraced Laine as one of their own after she risked her life to save a young girl from a dangerous cult. Knowing her wounds go beyond the physical, Laine hopes she'll fit in for a while and find her true self in a town that feels safe. She may even learn to open her heart to others, something an undercover agent has little time to indulge. Eric Gentry is also new to Thunder Point. Although he's a man with a dark past, he's determined to put down roots and get to know the daughter he only recently discovered. When Laine and Eric meet, their attraction is obvious to everyone. But while the law enforcement agent and the reformed criminal want to make things work, their differences may run too deep; unless they take a chance on each other and find that deep and mysterious bond that belongs to those who choose love over fear.

Entertaining story

Having listed to the first three books in the Thunder Point series, Robyn Carr has the ability to make you feel that you are among friends in each book. Its always nice to if briefly catch up on the characters from the former books.

I enjoyed The Chance with the main characters Laine, who we met in the last book & Eric too. We meet the surly teenager Justin who is struggling hard to keep his family together. Ray Ann has her own little side story.

Looking forward to more from Thunder Point.

My favorite

I’ve read all the Virgin River series and loved it. But this has been my favorite of any of her books. I just love the new characters Lane and Al.

Really Good

This book had some depth. I felt very engaged with all the characters. As always, I appreciated the continuing storylines from previous books. This book was a turning point with enough stories having been told that the town of Thunder Point seemed fully inhabited, much like Virgin River.

Excellent for Fathers and Daughters

Laine is a success ... except she fears, to her father.

Her father acts badly. She cuts him out of her life.

In ways that could happen to any of us.

This is a story that any father (me) with a daughter and any daughter with a father should read as a cautionary tale. Others will enjoy the carefully crafted world of Thunder Point, a place fill with real people. Good HEA

Umm, maybe just forgetful.

No spoiler but I forgot my lunchbox this morning. Ms. Carr, ineffably delightful and efficient with a story, changed a Trans Am morning in one chapter to a GTO in the next. Also someone had a fiancée in one book but had never been engaged in the the next. So maybe the theme, which I’m not telling you, is a good one.

She, The author, has a sneaky way of getting me to think about really important stuff without bashing me with the sadness stick. And. I’m all in. And. Volunteering to proofrwad if nessecary.
