Publisher's summary

The whole thing about relationships and feelings confuses the heck out of Calhoun. He's a simple cowboy and he'd been planning to marry a long-time friend for a while. When he finally realizes it doesn't feel right, he lets her go. He probably shouldn't have gone to her wedding to another man, but she wanted him there. But that's when he really gets confused. His eye is drawn to a seriously hot businessman...and that sure does unnerve him...and yet....

Emotionally burned by the last man he thought he'd loved, Daniel isn't anxious to replace him. But there is something about the proud, bedroom-eyed cowboy who shows up at his friend's wedding. The CEO isn't even sure if the cowboy's gay, although the heat firing between them makes him wonder....

What he does know is that he plans to find out.

Hmmmm Different But Good

This was a good short story. If you like male in male stories and you like them with a lot of dirty talk then this book is for you. I rated it at r stars because I didn't really care for the voices of the characters so it was hard for me to get into listening to this and I would of liked it to be longer. Other then that it was a great story.

Steamy gay romp

If you could sum up The CEO and the Cowboy in three words, what would they be?

A very enjoyable love story between two very different men.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The CEO and the Cowboy?

When the two men first meet and the cowboy finds himself attracted to another man.

Which scene was your favorite?

The whipping scene.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wasn't sure what to expect, but found it interesting and well written.

Any additional comments?

Starla Kaye does an excellent job of bringing out the passion in her stories.

Hot

In The CEO and The Cowboy we meet Calhoun as the unwanted guest at his ex-fiancee's wedding when he meets Daniel and find out he's attracted to a man for the first time in his life. He's stuck between wanting to run back to his ranch and allowing his body to lead him. Daniel is still reeling from the last relationship he had with another man but when he meets Calhoun he can't help being attracted to the cowboy. He is definitely a persuasive man and they end up in bed together. These two together were certainly hot. But will happen after their lust is sated? Could there be more between them?

just okay

I received an audible copy of this book for review.
Cal is described as this brut sexy cowboy. Daniel is this CEO that will make you melt. I think my biggest problem with this story was that the narrator was not consistent in his tone during his reading of the book. The story has a lot of gaps that probably would have improved the length and the buy in for the reader. It takes about an hour and a half to listen, but I was just not feeling this story. The narrator ruined this one for me.

not at all sure about the narration!

Any additional comments?

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I Dig Good Books. I was gifted and audio copy of this book.

Calhoun probably shouldn't have gone to his ex-fiancée's wedding, but she wanted him there. He meets Daniel, the groom's friend. Daniel is still reeling from his last relationship. But something about the cowboy calls to him.

Its only short, 40 pages according to Amazon, and one hour 25 minutes listening time, hence its filed on the hangover cure, and short story shelf.

I usually split the story from the narration. I can't do that here, because for me, the narration spoilt it.

Chase Johnson narrates. He makes Calhoun sound so ANGRY all the time! I didn't like his portrayal of when Daniel takes Calhoun back to his house, that came over all kinds of wrong. Not at all an easy bit to listen to.

THEN we have their reunion. This bit is where the AUTHOR lets the book down. I mean, being spanked by your lover should not ever EVER be compared to being spanked as a child!! Several times this point was made, and I didn't like it.

I did think I might like to READ this book, but I fear I would hear Johnson in my head, and make it just as bad, so I won't.

I do have the next part of Daniel and Calhoun's story to listen to next. Its longer that this one, and I hope Calhoun isn't as angry the whole way through.

3 stars narration, 3 for the story, simply because its so short, and I didn't like some points.

3 overall.
