Publisher's summary

Faith Holland left her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she's ready to return to the Blue Heron Winery, her family's vineyard, to confront the ghosts of her past, and maybe enjoy a glass of red. After all, there's some great scenery there....

Like Levi Cooper, the local police chief - and best friend of her former fiancé. There's a lot about Levi that Faith never noticed, and it's not just those deep green eyes. The only catch is she's having a hard time forgetting that he helped ruin her wedding all those years ago. If she can find a minute amidst all her family drama to stop and smell the rosé, she just might find a reason to stay at Blue Heron, and finish that walk down the aisle.

Multi-dimmentional and captivating

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would! I thought it was very captivating and the characters were complex. There was depth to each character and we (as readers) kept learning more and more about the characters and their pasts. It is funny, relatable, and endearing.

Loved It

Not sure how many times I have listened to it and finally decided I would write a review. This is a great book--will look for more by Ms. Higgins. The narrator just made it better.

Contemporary Romance At Its Best!

I liked that the characters and town felt so real! It was Hallmark but with more depth and you could really FEEL the lives of these people. I recommend this to anyone who wants to escape to upstate New York, where the vineyards are filled with people and Blue Heron awaits.

Too long

At least 5 chapters could’ve been cut out. It was tiring hearing the same thoughts over and over again. It wasn’t a matter of adding to the story, but more of prolonging it to the point of boredom. Some good points and characters that I would’ve loved to have read about more instead of the lackluster continual whoa is me. Not sure if I’ll read the next in this series.

The Best Man

The Best Man is the start of Kristen Higgins’s Blue Heron series it’s a great comic love story full of slapstick humor, witty dialogue, complex and archetype characters. Higgins creates her magical spell and describes details and unbelievable situations and weaves them into cleaver, funny, heartbreaking romances that the reader will never ever forget and will want to listen to again and again

Amazing ✨✨✨

I am always amazed at the absolute intricacies and depth of experience I encounter where Kristen Higgens is concerned…

Levy and Faith have touched my heart like no other couple.

There is a Soul communication the defies words.

I love them and all the warm and wonderful people of Manningsport.

I live on Eastern Long Island and am a native New Yorker. It all feels like HOME…

So cute!

I really enjoyed this story. Maybe predictable but I liked it a lot. Higgins is a great author. A little more sexually explicit than others though.

3 ½ stars. Good story.

But I did not like the audiobook narrator.

It was a nice way to pass the time if you’re in the mood for contemporary romance. It has a bit of a chick lit feel.

Levi never expresses his feelings. He acts and looks like he doesn’t like Faith. She’s the trusting one who falls for him and continues being with him even though he doesn’t say the right words. All she knows is that he desires her physically. I wish he opened up more at the end.

I loved early on in the book the way rich kid Jeremy became friends with Levi whose mom was low income and single. My heart melted over their friendship.

AUDIOBOOK NARRATOR - Amy Rubinate.
She was good when speaking dialogue. She has a nice soft feminine voice, but her voice for general narration and descriptions was monotone - like reading without thinking. Not good.

Genre: contemporary romance.
