Publisher's summary

Lord Victor Mayhew, Viscount Norcross, lives in the shadows, hiding his scarred face from those who would fear him...or worse, pity him. He's become accustomed to the dark, and to the aching loneliness that is his only and constant companion. But while traversing the city in the dark of night, he encounters a beautiful woman who is running for her life.

Lady Thessaly Shade has discovered that the prettiest of faces can hide the ugliest of hearts. While Lord Norcross keeps his face carefully concealed from her, he cannot hide the fact that he is a man of honor, a man for whom the word gentleman is a way of life and not merely an honorary title.

With no way to repay him for his kindness, for his courage in aiding her at great risk to himself, Thessaly bargains with the only thing she possesses of value...herself. Can she convince him to trust her, to believe that she can see beyond the scars he bears to the man he is? Or will he push her away out of fear and retreat into the loneliness that he knows so well?

Historical Beauty and the Beast

If you could sum up The Beast of Bath in three words, what would they be?

Steamy historical fairytale

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! And the short length of the audiobook makes it easy.

Any additional comments?

Loved this book and the narrator was great! A quick listen great for fans of historical romance and fairytales. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Short but good

I love beauty and the beast retelling a. But I really love it when they don’t follow the fairytale too closely.

It’s surprise how much story could be told in 2 hours. It never felt rushed and I feel fully satisfied with it.

The narrator was not my favorite however. She paused in the middle of her sentences, and put emphasis on the wrong words. She also pronounced words weird sometimes which pulled me out of the story.

Short and Sweet

A sexy fairy tale with a happy ending. Although this Audio boom was only about two hours long, the story was well told.

A beast worth meeting

Based on Beauty and the Beast this story is similar enough to be recognizable and different enough to show creativity. I liked the characters, they're more complex than they seemed in the first chapters and their emotional range is very good.

The narration is well done, I liked the character voices and the delivery conveyed the emotion of the story nicely.

This book was supplied free by the author/narrator/publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Steamy, Short, On Point and romantic with a dash of suspense

I loved how everything was to the point and still we can feel and go on the journey of both lead characters falling for each other.
It was steamy and sexy
I loved the suspense and how my questions were answered with out frustration!

good quick read

I'm not a big fan of Regency/15th century/ old school story lines because the main female characters are usually push overs or just plain annoying. but thain female character in this book was interesting and smart. even tho the book was short the story line made u feel like u were not missing any details. it flowed perfectly.
