Publisher's summary

English lord John Montague is a baron of the Cinque Ports and has been told by his king he needs to marry and produce an heir. While in France, John is hit by an arrow and thrown from his horse in the midst of a storm. He ends up dangling from a cliff with only one person who can help him - his angry ex-wife with a bow and arrows in her hand. Lady Celestine de Bar had married at a very young age, but when the Montague family accused her of being a witch, the marriage ended. So after 14 years of living a life of hell, she's found her chance to finally change things. She discovers her ex-husband in France - still unmarried, and decides to take matters into her own hands. Can a man who measure his worth by the things he owns find happiness with a woman of his past who can take everything from him?

WHAT A DIFFERENCE THE NARRATOR MAKES...

I totally enjoyed book 2 and 3 of this series. The narrator was not the same as book 1 and it made a huge difference. Great story and series! More Elizabeth, we want more!!!

Destiny

When you shed tears on the first page of a story, you know it’s going to be a good one. When you can both laugh and cry through the book, it’s a hit. The Baron’s Destiny was a great end to the Baron trilogy. It was a bit different than the other two. John and Celestine have a long journey through past acts and betrayals to trust and love. This is a love story, although a hard one at times. Even Mother Nature doesn’t seem to like them very much. The three main characters are strong and you pull for them to become a true family. The secondary characters run the gambit: friends from the other Cinque Ports, parents who need some lessons in parenting (and telling the truth), and relatives who know how to work a little magic. Lucio and Hugh de Bar are Celestine’s uncle and cousin. They are quite interesting characters from Ms Rose’s Tangled Tales series. This is a well-written story with lots of turns, twists, and surprises. The narration by Brian J. Gill is excellent. He has a fantastic range of voices, accents, and dialects. I enjoyed listening to him read this story.

excellent story!

Lord Hastings/John a bit materialistic, has bad nightmares with fear of storms since his annulled marriage 14 years ago.
Celestine- has been a prisoner in her father's woods since her annulled marriage.
I enjoyed reading the 2nd chance in love story that is fantastically written with a twist or 2. Their story has a loving HEA but not your typical one.
Narrated by Brian J Gill who did a wonderful job in telling the story.

Destiny or choices

When all seems hopeless can destiny be changed and can our hero have a second chance at happiness with his wife and son in spite of a hint of witchcraft in her family. Enjoyable conclusion to this series.

not your Romeo and Juliet story

Love this series. Elizabeth does it again with an intriguing story of love, hate and betrayal. I really thought it might be revenge that drove Celestine in her pursuit of John and his title, but love conquered. Brian Gill did a wonderful job in his narration.

Third in the series

I've listened to the previous in the series and this has a more serious feel to the story. I found it hard to like John as he spent much of the story being a real jerk. I was not real sure why Celestine worked so hard to be married to him as he was so arrogant much of the time. I really enjoyed the others in this series. They are fun to listen to or read. This is my least favorite of the bunch. The narrator is awesome and it was nice that we got to catch up with the characters from the previous stories.

Fantastic!

Lady Celestine de Bar and Lord John Montague were married when they were only 14 years old. After her mother was burned at the stake for a witch, her father took her away and hid her in a cottage deep in his woods. She had a son after only one night in the marriage bed. Fourteen years later they were reunited. Then adventure and love see them through twist and turns. I loved it!

Entertaining Historical Romance

Any additional comments?

Although this audiobook might not be historically accurate in jargon or conversation, I found it entertaining nonetheless. I became engaged in the story and characters almost immediately. I did not listen to or read either of the first two books in the series, but I did not feel lost in the least. I will definitely pick up another book by this author and recommend this story!

Love’s Destiny

Love and determination of one Lady has the magic of changing one arrogant and stubborn Baron. Another great story by Elizabeth Rose.
The characters have a turbulent history, but fate has a way of putting them in the same place at the same time. Celestine is determined to win the heart of one Baron and prove she isn’t a witch. She is a woman in love. A wonderful story providing hope for love to truly conquer all as Celestine shows this stubborn Baron treasures aren’t possessions and worth, but love and family. Beautiful written and heart warming.
