His Mission:
When six canisters of a lethal nerve agent are stolen from a military testing lab, Admiral Jake Robinson must recover the chemicals - by any means necessary. He defies convention and decides to infiltrate the compound where religious fanatics have stored the deadly toxin.

His Partner:
Dr. Zoe Lange is a biological warfare specialist and an expert in espionage. Zoe agrees to assist Jake on the case, and, posing as husband and wife, they manage to gain access to the compound. But Jake fears his instant attraction to Zoe might compromise the mission.

His Crisis:
Their marriage may be a hoax, but Jake's growing feelings for Zoe are anything but make-believe. With each hour he's in Zoe's company, the stakes get higher, the game more real. And the dangers within the compound escalate out of control.

Now everything is on the line....

Susan Brockman at her best!

This was a great story and I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the story line and the narrator. There was enough suspense and danger to keep the story moving along and enough interplay between the characters to make it all interesting. The "Admiral" was introduced in several of her earlier novels so it had helped that I had read this one farther along in the series.
As I travel a great deal in my job, I have enjoyed the Navy Seal series and heartily recommend the novels of this author.

LOVED IT...but you must read Hawken's Heart first

Again, Suz is amazing in getting you into the head of the characters. The way Suz makes you feel how Jake struggles to let go of Daisy is just incredible. You DO NEED to read "Hawken's Heart" first or you won't understand this book in its depth. I would like to see a bit more of the SEAL action that Suz usually puts in there, but it is great.

Better and better

Great narration finally! Jake and Zoey's story meant more since I already read Hawken's Heart. Already knew Jake was tough but had a heart of gold.

What a story!

If you could sum up The Admiral's Bride in three words, what would they be?

The older man and the younger woman...can I find me one of those? Maybe not that age difference but wow, it wants you to root for them from the start.

What did you like best about this story?

You don't know how it going to play out. Some parts where going slow...I really wanted the action to pick up. I loved the last few chapters. It tells you all about team work, love, just the power of all of that, just drawls you in.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Actually, the beginning where the men where injured and thinking about the families back home. What they where missing about them...The story pulled me in from the moment the book started.

I love this author... her characters are great and the different stories keep me completely involved through the entire book. I love the fact that the characters are depicted with intelligence... I find myself intrigued.

Good Story and deals with difficult subjects!

This was a good story with a few STOP SAYING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER moments! 😉. The MCs age difference will be a deal killer for some and it is a significant gap. The H is still grieving the death of his wife and has to use a relationship as a cover. What could go wrong?

The younger Seals also have an issue with his age but he continually shows that he is still a force to reckon with.

You will find yourself shouting... Just be honest with each other. The h is awesome and can definitely handle herself.

Good story could use updating

Now that the story is 20 yrs old it could use some updating or just some changes of the details as pagers and mentions of the Vietnam war make the characters older in present day. Otherwise fun to listen to. Could also use a little more back story about Jake’s relationship with Daisy.

My Fave in series

Admiral Jake Robinson, referenced in earlier books, has his own story. This is definitely my favorite of the Tall, Dark & Deadly series, and grabs me from the opening scene in Vietnam.
Zackman was ok as narrator, but weak on male voices.
