Publisher's summary

Molly Jennings has one naughty little secret: her job as a best-selling erotic fiction author. Until her inspiration runs dry - thanks to a creepy ex - and it's time to skip town and move back to tiny Tumble Creek, Colorado.

One look at former high-school hunk and chief of police Ben Lawson and Molly is back in business. The town gossip is buzzing at her door and, worse still, a stalker seems to be watching her every move.

Thankfully, her very own lawman has taken to coming over, often. The only problem now is that Molly may have to let the cat out of the bag about her chosen profession - and straitlaced Ben will definitely not approve.

Pretty Painful

I like a sexy little romance as well as the next person. I was prepared for the "plot" to provide only a thinly desguised excuse for lots of hot sex. I was not prepared for the main characters to be so completely hollow and like cardboard cutouts. I can give the author credit for pretty good sex scenes, though even there the dialogue was pretty trite. But Molly, oh my, Molly was nothing but a characature. The reader didn't help at all with her school girl voice. I have to say this was the worst book I've downloaded to date from Audible. Guess you gotta get a "dog" once in a while. I give myself an A for wading all the way through instead of quitting. I'm not trying to be brutal. I'm just stating my honest views.

Loved this book!

This book really sucked you in! I listened to the whole book in one day. It had many of the components I was looking for in a great story. It had great humor, was very sexy, heartstring pulling emotional moments, and it all equaled a great plot. You really were rooting for the hero and heroine to pull it together. I hope that we see more from this author on Audible.com.

Funny and Yummmmmy!

This story has so many good points I can only say go for it! Molly is funny and honest about what she THINKS she wants-the character is fabulous! ADORE Ben, totally chasing his own tail over Molly but totally serious and capable as a small town sheriff. The sex is HOT!-its also sweet, giving, and VERY VERY funny at times. Found myself laughing out loud more than once. The ex-BF is seriously creepy, the tension and subplots of the secondary characters is perfect. Believeable story line - I'll be listening to this one again. Looking forward to her accompanying story about the "sheriff and the widow"! Hope it comes out in audio-I've discovered a new favorite author-more more more!!!

Nice distraction

This book was funny, it was one of those books that I would call "real", as in I could see this happening to a real person. It wasn't mind blowing, it wasn't edge of your seat stuff, it was almost YA in my opinion, but YA with an R rating if that makes sense. The hot scenes were decent, but nothing shattering.

This is a book about a small town girl who "got out", and then came back! Molly Jennings grew up underappreciated and over shadowed by her big brother so when she had the chance to move out of Tumble Creek for college she took it and didn't really look back. She supports herself by *cough* well, it's a TOP secret vocation, and not even her parents know, but she swears it is totally legal and that should be good enough for everyone....except Ben....the small town crush she had 10 years ago is now the small town sheriff and boy does she want HIM...and has wanted him for 10 long years.

Ben likes the quiet life, no scandal, no ruckus, not in his small town but when Molly Jennings blows back into town his world stops....the girl he has always wanted, and the girl that is STILL off limits! Molly is his best friends little sister and she always will be...but she's not 17 anymore, and he's not 22. Can he fight his feelings for her....does he want to anymore?

Throw in a creepy ex, a small town mentality, and a whole bunch of "who done it" scenarios and the book was nice....just nice. The narrator was good at inflection, but some of the guys sound like girls, especially the hunky alpha male lead...so THAT wasn't so great, but it didn't ruin the story.

All in all I say get it on sale, but not worth a credit.

P.S. Not that Audible has listed this, but this is book one in the "Tumble Creek Series" Book 2 is called Start me up, and book 3 is lead me on!

Talk Me Down Review

An ultra light romantic suspense story. Molly and Ben were likeable enough. Their relationship developed quickly, a little too quickly for me. And although, their encounters were playful and teasing, Molly's refusal to tell Ben what she did for a living didn't add enough believable conflict to keep this story interesting. After a while, it was just annoying. Also, the suspense angle was not very suspenseful in the end. There was some light humor and some hot love scenes, but not much else.

It's ok

The story sounded as though it could be fun, but the narrator sounds like a student teacher talking to an 11th grade sex-ed class, and so is proving barely tolerable. I'd like to hear it with Anna Fields or some other adult doing the narration; but meanwhile, I wish I'd passed on this one and bought something entertaining (Natural Born Charmer springs to mind).

Entertainment

If you want entertainment, nothing much to watch on TV this is a good listen. I wish I could become acustom to the narrator's voice. She is smooth, reads well, but I just find her voice sounds too young for these very adult characters. This book was enjoyable but I probably won't listen to it more than once. The narrator on "Lead Me On" was preferable.

Steamy!

I rally liked this book. It was hot hot HOT! and action packed too. The only downfall was the narrator's valley girl voice. It really took away from some scenes that were supposed to be humanizing, making them sound trite instead. I had to reinterpretation it a bit. Overall it is still a 5 star book, the narrator is 3 stars.

Great Male Lead!

The male lead in this book made the story! He was everything you would want in a man and then some. The story itself was really good as well. The female lead was often annoying and inappropriate, but even she had a few good moments. Overall, an enjoyable read. Looking forward to the next installment about Lori and Quinn.
