Audio books are growing. I have listened to books for months now, But I prefer my books in paperback/hardback format.
I actually liked this book. This isnt the first alien romance I've listen to. This was an interesting story I'm glad the girl in this story got married to the guy because I knew he actually liked her. I know it's weird with the situations with the Aliens and Humans but the stories always catch my attention I'm the end. Good book.
Just Another Audiobook Addict! Love listening to all types of romances, but occasionally need a good Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or a book with humor!
This story took me on a mental roller coaster ride! I felt every emotion from anger, anxiety, anticipation to relief, hope and finally the happy ever after I was hoping for. After Lyzette is kidnapped and sold into slavery, her life is forever changed. In the beginning, she accepts her fate and tries to make the best of it. Her "owner" Mikael doesn't really think of her as a slave and treats well, and when he develops feelings for her, he starts to see slavery for what it is. However, after Lyzette is taken from Mikael, she finally finds her inter strength, and makes a stand.
Even though this book was about Lyzette being kidnaped, and sold into slavery, the story kinda reminded of the Brides of Kindred series. However, this one was more on the dark side and the alien world was more like earth.
This story drew me in, and kept me on the edge of my seat; I could not stop listening to it, even if I wanted to. I would recommend this story to my friends; however, I would caution it contains adult content.
Another great narration by Addison Spear!
"I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Blast dot com.
Taken was a funny, sweet, strange story that involved a virgin living in her mother’s shadow being abducted by an alien and sold as a slave and being bought by the ruler of the planet. It goes on from there. The ruler bought women to ease his sexual urges but when he sees Liz in the cage she captures him without either of them knowing. He pursues her as a true suitor would do all the time telling himself that he just wants her to not be afraid of him. Yet he does all of the things needed to win her heart and to lose his. She thinks she is doing it to save the six other women slaves in the household and because she has always lived under her mother’s thumb does not know what falling in love really is. Then a kidnapping takes place and more cruelty than can be imagined happens. How does the story end? Well you will have to find out for yourself. It is worth a credit.
my first book by Lisa Lace and certainly not my last! Addison Spear did a great job narrating I'll also be listening to more of her work! the story was different but I can't say that I didn't like it :) This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast.
The story itself. I wanted Liz to grow and I wasn't disappointed.
The characters came full circle and I didn't feel like the story was rushed.
Some parts were funny and some parts we're frustrating... I won't spoil it for anyone else.
Thank you to the author. It was a great story to get lost in.
I received this for an honest review.
I enjoyed the the first book in the series. I wasn't sure what to think with this one. It seemed to have a very different theme than the first, although still in the same series. The first one had the heroine volunteering for TerraMates. However, in this one the heroine was forced.
This definitely went in a different direction than the first book. Despite, or was it because of, the different direction I enjoyed this story. I love the development of the main characters, especially the heroine. She went from someone with almost no self-worth to someine with a very high self confidence that others looked up to. In the end she found that she had the strength and courage to change the outcome of things around her and did what was necessary to do it.
The narration was much better in this book than the last one. I know that there was a lot of hard work put into making it better, and it shows.
Say something about yourself!
the first book of this series is quite different from the second. This book was darker and dealt with the dark issue of slavery. But in the end it all worked out. But this book just shows that slavery even exist on different worlds. They thought it was ok just because they were not of there planet. My favorite part was when mikhail realized he loved her. I received this book as gift from the author/narrator/ in exchange for a honest review. I recommend this series.
I'm a cheerleader for authors, narrators and audiobooks I love! All things Romance, Horror and Sci Fi
I really enjoyed the first book in the series so I had high hopes for this audiobook, unfortunately to me it seems like this book was written earlier. The wording of some anatomy parts seems juvenile and then other places it's not. The story is very dark, disturbing and rapey in nature. I
will still try the 3rd book and hope for better, skip this one.
This audiobook was given to me at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review.
there is a lot going on in this book, but sex really takes center stage. terramates the agency doesn't really have anything to do with the story. it's more like the dark side of the business. it involves a different planet and different species which is way more sexually oriented. lyzette really doesn't have any self-esteem thanks to her mom, so a lot of the story is about her finding out about herself and taking control of the things that happen to her.
This second book goes in a very different direction than the first and at the beginning I was very upset with TerraMates! How dare they encourage kidnapping and slavery! Lyzette is a rather sad excuse of a woman whose warped way of thinking just irked me. Mikael is rather entitled but also kind hearted even though his ignorance on what slaves may or may not feel bothered me as well. After my initial upset it transitions in to a Pretty Woman type of story and then bam, goes somewhere else entirely! In the end this was a suspenseful read that took me on an unexpected journey of growth for both characters as well as their alien planet.
