Champion kickboxer Haley swore she'd never set foot in the ring again after one tragic night. But that all changes when the guy she can't stop thinking about accepts a mixed martial arts fight in her honor. West Young is everything Haley promised herself she'd stay away from: handsome, sexy, and full of attitude.
West is keeping a big secret from Haley. He hasn't told her who he really is, and helping her - fighting for her - is a shot at redemption, especially since his family is falling apart and it's all his fault. He can't change the past, but maybe he can change Haley's future.

I wish I would have started this book right after book 3. Looking back at my review, it seems I was excited to read about West. That was almost 4 years ago so I’m a little sad that I don’t remember how much I liked this kid. At first I found myself annoyed with him. His decision making was crap but was kind of on par for a teenager. His arrogance was a bit baffling in regards to fighting and his pride is infuriating as well. I loved Haley. Her life just seemed so tough but she made sure to continue to do whatever it took to make things work for her. I kept wishing she would open up about her past and stop protecting those who didn't deserve her loyalty.
This story had a lot. I loved the training throughout and the weird friendship w/ Abby. There was a bit of a twist that had me thinking wow but worked out well. Overall a good story that I wish I would have gotten to sooner.

It's teeny but the teens are dealing with some real ish and it can be quite heartbreaking. If you like an easy quick read with lots of dialogue, overcoming, and coming of age (into adulthood) then you will love this book.
It's not something I stewed on for days but its a great ride while it last.
Bring them on Katie!
