Publisher's summary

Christmas is a time for remembering - too bad not all memories are pleasant. Everyone in Whiskey Creek remembers Sophia DeBussi as the town's Mean Girl. Especially Ted Dixon, whose love she once scorned. But Sophia has paid the price for her youthful transgressions. The man she did marry was rich and powerful but abusive. Then he goes missing - and she soon learns that he died running from an FBI probe of his investment firm. Not only has he left Sophia penniless, he's left her to face all the townspeople he cheated. Sophia is reduced to looking for any kind of work to pay the bills and support her daughter. With no other options, she accepts a job as housekeeper for Ted, now a successful suspense writer. He can't turn his back on her, but he refuses to get emotionally involved. Will Christmas, the season of love and forgiveness, bring them another chance at happiness?

Awful

This story makes abused alcoholic women look stupid and unable to recover. Woman is hopeless. Couldn't finish listening.
Reader makes woman s voice childlike and whiny.

Sound issues

The story is quite good. However, the sound volume kept increasing and decreasing. So low it was hard to hear. Not sure if it was the reader or the recording.

Enjoyed the series until Presley and Aaron’s story

Presley and Aaron’s story really mad me mad for Sue for the first 20 chapters. Omg what selfish manipulative women - Cheyanne and Presley are just as bad as any story with female villains! Ugh ! Ugly women with decent men - they have nothing over any villain - manipulative- selfish women with self serving motives and holy above it all attitudes! I finish listening because I was too far in to the story but I wish I had ever started Presley and Aaron’s book!

Great Read

Take Me Home For Christmas (Whiskey Creek, #5) was a great read by Brenda Novak. Everyone in Whiskey Creek remembers that Sophia was the town's mean girl. Especially Ted Dixon, who she left as a young girl for the man she married. Her husband was rich and abusive until the day he goes missing. She finds out that he died after running from the FBI. He cheated many people in Whiskey Creek and heh left her penniless. She winds up working for Ted to help support her daughter. I absolutely loved reading Ted and Sophia's story and her way of making things up tp the town people. I can't wait to read more by Brenda Novak.

Second Chance Holiday Romance

This is a great holiday story with twists, turns, heartache, and happiness. You experience it all with Sofie, Skip, Ted, Alexis and the entire town of Whiskey Creek. The narrator does an amazing job as always.

Another amazing story

Another amazing story by Brenda Novak. I really enjoyed this one. Nothing too heavy but not sugary sweet either.

Wonderful, emotional story

This is a complex and yet fascinating story of past love and the road not taken. It felt a little long to me, but had a great premise and a fantastic ending. Sophia and Ted's story was full of love and redemption.
