Publisher's summary

When 24-year-old Felicity Harper is dragged to a sugar party, an event where wealthy men and women seek companionship, she never expects this one simple decision to drastically change her whole life. Her past is nothing but broken dreams and heartache. Her present is detached and dull. And her future? Well, before meeting Theodore Darcy, the famed film director, writer, producer and CEO of Darcy Entertainment, she would have expected more of the same. Love is just a fantasy and she wants no part of it - even if she can't deny the magnetic attraction between the two of them. So their arrangement is simple: sex with no strings attached. But as their intimacy becomes more powerful, so do Felicity's demons. Can Theo really shoulder her past and his own? And could Felicity even let him?

A DELICIOUS KALEIDOSCOPE OF FEELS

Felicity got talked into attending a Sugar Baby party where selected 'beautiful' people are given a number, socialize and hope that one of the rich and powerful members will choose to 'sponsor' them in exchange for companionship, sex or whatever is bartered for. Felicity had three jobs, could look after herself financially and when she wasn't working she was at home reading, talking with her roommates or watching films. She didn't really want to be there and certainly didn't want to mix.. but when she went snooping around the mansion she's watched by Billionaire Theodore Darcy and he will, if Felicity will let him, change the course of her life.

Despite his millions and his success Theodore Darcy is missing something in his life - he's annoyed with his brother for hosting a Sugar Baby party in his house.. but when he sees a beautiful woman lost in her own emotions playing his piano - Theo's instincts and libido took notice. But despite their off the charts chemistry No. 13 didn't want anything from Theo except sex that came with an end date and that was initially fine with him. However, the more 'encounters' they had, the more he wanted to get to know the mysterious, talented and unpredictable woman who'd captivated him and consumed his thoughts - but the trouble was Felicity wasn't in it for the long haul.

An entertaining story that had push-pull elements to it and enjoyable banter as Theo tried to reign in Felicity who was friendly with everyone but came with Daddy issues.. and there was angst because his parents expected so much more too. Likeable easygoing characters - heroine was funny, sassy, talented and happy and the hero was mega in every way - sexy, dirty, handsome, thoughtful, sensitive, compassionate, loving and loyal. There are plenty of sexy hot times, light times, sweet times, happy times and fun times.. until a mega twist spins the story into a whole different direction and kudos to JJ McAvoy because I NEVER saw it coming.. you sneaky talented woman. Drama filled, romantic, poignant, thought provoking, heartbreaking and beautiful scenes followed. Dual POV's and the narrators kept to their own genders which I like.

Worth a credit? Yup this one's a keeper.

Surprisingly great

I bought this audiobook not really knowing what to expect, but I was so engrossed in this story from the beginning. The hero is a rich movie and music producer and the heroine is a waitress, janitor and credit card help line operator. The two seem really unmatched at first, but they begin a relationship. I just can't say anything more, but there are shocks and surprises that made me gasp and I had tears in my eyes several times- and I rarely cry over books! Mental illness is dealt with quite tastefully and the narration was very good. I recommend this angst filled story wholeheartedly!

Never Saw That Coming!

Felicity was just too good to be true ... or so it seemed. This started off as a typical romance where two people just want no strings sex and then they develop feelings for each other. But nothing in this story is typical or expected. I'm usually able to guess at plot twists but this had twists and turns that I never saw coming which made for a fascinating listen. I love that the story had layers and complexities that made it more than just a steamy romance -- oh and it was very steamy. JJ McAvoy writes compelling love stories and this one is no exception. Love it!

The narrators were good enough for the story to flow really well without distractions but they were not memorable. The duet narration made it even better. I would listen to them again (and probably not remember their voices).

Definitely worth the credit. I have listened to all of JJ McAvoy's audiobooks and this one is my favorite by this author. Keep them coming JJ.

An unexpected left turn (for the best)!!!

Wow...I definitely did not think this book to turn out the way it did. I bought it because of all the great reviews it got and it was well worth the time and money. Sugar baby beautiful had it all. it had a range of emotions and nice little surprises at every turn.

It was heartwarming, loving, little to no angst, love story with some smexy times. The heroine was very smart and witty and even though Mr. Darcy was all work and no smiles, his heart leaped for Felicity from the first time he laid eyes on her and he never gave up on her; no matter what.

I love that the narrators spoke in their respective character voices and had no male doing the female character voice and vice versa.

The story was a fresh perspective for love stories and I loved it. My only hang up is that I would love to know what senior Mr. Darcy did to Arty and where he went.

Overall, great book and superb narrators. I hate that it ended. I wanted more!

Get this book, it is well worth the credit/price

WOW THIS BOOK HAD A TWIST I NEVER SEEN COMING

Would you listen to Sugar Baby Beautiful again? Why?

I was blown away by the twist in book I would have never seen coming. Books are usually so predictable but this one had me from the start and I was so rooting for couple to make a go of it.
I've listened to hundreds of books and this one is in my top ten
J. J. McAvoy it one talented writer

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sugar Baby Beautiful?

I can't say as I don't want to spoil it for other listeners

What does Veronica Pace and T.A. Wellington bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrators did an excellent job of bring the book to life

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did both

Any additional comments?

I will be listening to more of the authors books as she does a splendid job of getting you involved in the characters and cheering for a happy ending

Narration Ruined it for me😞

Story could have been really good but the narration is so monotone! The female is tolerable, the male totally flat!

Disappointment

What did you like best about Sugar Baby Beautiful? What did you like least?

Best: it's written by JJ McAvoy. She knows how to write normal, not punch-able female lead, and adorable male lead. There are always humors in her words. and her story just pulls you in. I really do enjoy the first 80% of the book, but the 20% is so bad, that it ruins it for me.
Worst: Don't exploit mental illness. I don't mind if you use it as a plot twist, but don't exploit it!

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Biggest disappointment of the year so far.. and WTF is with Arty's plot!

Would you listen to another book narrated by Veronica Pace and T.A. Wellington ?

Veronica Pace: Yes
T.A. Wellington: Maybe. He was a bit monotone when doing the lead voice.

Do you think Sugar Baby Beautiful needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Maybe, I need to know Arty's story because it's so incomplete, but at the same time I really don't want to see how McAvoy is going to deal with his situation when she did a very poor job with Felicity's.

Any additional comments?

This is not to deter you from reading this book. I really want more people to read McAvoy's works because it's amazing, but this one just really bothers me. Go read it and you'll probably enjoy it. You won't see the twist coming!

I love the twist

Would you consider the audio edition of Sugar Baby Beautiful to be better than the print version?

Doesn't compare for me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sugar Baby Beautiful?

The middle of the book where the plot twist it was a good twist did not see it coming

Have you listened to any of Veronica Pace and T.A. Wellington ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Sorry I don't remember but the narration was really good I enjoyed it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes he stayed loved❤️ that part in. Sorry the father didn't and that could've been what was wrong with the mothers also but they thought it was something else and the part with the brother why he was so what they call screwed up.

Any additional comments?

Yes stick with the book the beginning is slow but once you get to the middle and the ending it will make you cry or almost make you cry.
