Publisher's summary

For more than two years, Rose has been the nanny for James Harwood's daughters. She adores the girls, but she tries to maintain a professional distance with James - no matter how attractive she finds him. However, when his engagement falls apart and he starts to look at her differently, Rose no longer sees him only as her boss.

James isn't the kind of man to fall for his nanny, so he doesn't know why he can't stop thinking about her in very wrong ways. He's determined to resist, to keep his life simple, and to find an appropriate substitute for his wife who died. But with a manipulative ex-fiancée, two precocious daughters, Rose's interfering Southern grandmother, a short-lived fake engagement, and feelings that won't be denied, nothing remains simple for long.

Great book

I really enjoy Noelle Adams book they are cute love stories without being to much. It’s an easy read and it’s one of my favorite tropes. And Angela Dawe is a WONDERFUL narrator!!

The Sweetness Of A Loving Father

If you could sum up Substitute Bride in three words, what would they be?

Caring, Conviction, Conniving. Good story as reader does young children voices very well.
As always, Ms Dawe’s male voice makes our hero yummy and a hunk.
I do use 1.25x speed to match author’s intent.
The relationship between father and 2 girls is precious and many would to be envious of this.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Substitute Bride?

When fiancé faces reality! Wait for it.

Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The full length stories in this series read by Ms Dawe are so much more uplifting than the 3 short stories. Yes those 3 short stories have HEAEnding but the journey has too much self doubt in them for me. The heroines do achieve their goals!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes as our hero is just plain YUM. This author stories only appealed to me as Ms Dawe is the reader. I have no desire to try the other readers by this author. The full length Ms Dawe reads by this author are a good buy on sale and are good uplifting core romance entertainment.

Delightful.

This was delightful and sweet (but with sexy times). I listened to it on Audible and was very impressed with narrator, Angela Dawe, who was able to do so many distinct voices with seeming ease: children, male, female, elderly, and a separate narrator’s voice. Superb.

The story-line here is a well known trope. I loved the nanny/boss scenario here as the couple knew each other in an employer/employee capacity and lived in the same home for years before any awareness in a romantic sense descended upon them. It wasn’t lust at first sight, and their love evolved naturally over time, catapulted by a mutual love for the children as well as each other. Really sweet and well-written, even if predictable.

Recommended.
