Eager to understand her secret desires, Gabrielle enters "The Sanctuary." Inside she's immediately torn between fear of the unknown and a craving to learn more, until the lights dim. From the first sound of Thomas' calm and controlled voice, she is mesmerized. With an underlying need in her emotional spirit that requires more control, she is easily seduced into a world of dominance and submission.
For Thomas, an experienced Master, Gabrielle is an interesting mix of defiant, naive and submissive. Her sharp mind and wit appeal to him as much as the curves of her lush figure. He accepts the challenge to help train her despite the danger she represents. Long term anything for him is out of the question. If he does his job right, his protégé David will end up the perfect Dom for her and Thomas will move on with his armor intact.
Their journey puts Gabrielle at the mercy of two men who teach her how to embrace her darkest needs within a tight bond of trust. Unfortunately, betrayal lurks on the path to total surrender.

I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
Hot, hot, hot! This was a scorcher! This is my first Eliza Gayle book and I have to say I'm liking what I am hearing. I thought the relationship had just the right amount of time to really develop and trust to be built between all parties.
Gabriel (who prefers Gabby) was such an interesting character. She wasn't a wilting flower and I appreciate that kind of character. I like the stronger characters, not only in romance, but with wanting to submit. It enhances the story for me. But she's no warrior princess either. I love being able to see the vulnerable side. Let's face it, all women hit that point in a relationship and it makes the character relatable. Plus, what woman wouldn't be swept away by two incredibly handsome doms who want nothing more than to take care of their woman?
I liked the story (is that a shocker?). I like how it didn't fall into stereotypical when it came to some of the troubles that Gabby finds herself in. I was expecting something completely different and was pleasantly surprised by how Eliza Gayle handled it. I didn't roll my eyes or feel like it was too cliche.
Strong romance, strong story, strong characters. Absolute pleasure to listen to!
Nina Burns was outstanding in the delivery of the story.

I loved this story, it was a well written BDSM story that deals with many issues that I found rang true. The narrator's voice just grabs your attention and makes you focus on the story. There were many twists and turns in this book and one moment that I was not expecting. I love when a book isn't predictable. I'd recommend this book to people who want to read a story about three people coming together and finding love through BDSM.
Gabby needs to confront her husband and her friend Angel. She did neither. Having everyone else take care of her problems took away from the story. Gabby did not grow as a character. Also, the author tied up all the issues too quickly.
Like the rest of the story, there were no surprises.
Nina Burns portrayal of Gabby brought the character to life. However, her male characters could have been better.
Once is enough. You can eat one potato chip. There's no addiction here.
If you are looking for great sex scenes, this the book for you. However, the story line needs to be more developed.

This is erotica, nothing that is going to win a Pulitzer Prize, as long as you go into it with that expectation I think you will like it.
This is the story of a woman who knows she wants the submissive life and is trying to get it, then there are two Doms that are willing to train her. So the hot scenes are hot, and the backstory was a bit shaky, but overall it was an enjoyable listen to watch how everyone's path unfolds.
Narrator doesn't do male voices well but her emotion was good. I got this book on sale and it was totally worth it, if I had paid full price I don't think I would have been happy, but I didn't, so I am :-)
Put it in your wish list and audible will let you know when it's on sale.
Nurse, mom, loved to read....but now I love to listen. When I retire I hope to hear waves crashing in 1 ear and audible in the other!
It may not be realistic but it will blow your fantasies out of the water! If you like sexually explicit listens this will make the top of your list! The narration was ok and the story far from realistic but if you are in the mood for erotica I think you just might enjoy this.
Better writing. I have read other books by Eliza Gayle and enjoyed them, but this one was just awful. It wasn't just the plot, but the writing overall was just sad, very choppy, and didn't really make sense. I stopped and started it several times thinking maybe it wasn't that bad, but it was.
I don't think there is a way to improve the book. It would have to be totally rewritten.
I didn't have any problems with the narrator other than the story was so bad it made listening painful.
Everything! The story is preposterous. The characters are unbelievable. The female is an absurdly weak, one-dimensional character incapable of rational thought.
The performance was ok, one can only do so much with bad writing, garbage in-garbage out.
All of them
