Sherrilyn Kenyon's most highly anticipated novel in the Dark-Hunter series since Acheron is here - the unforgettable story of Styxx, Acheron's twin brother and one of the most powerful beings on Earth. Just when you thought doomsday was over…
Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge. As the twin to Acheron, Styxx hasn’t always been on his brother's side. They've spent more centuries going at each other's throats than protecting their backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he's willing to trade his life and future for Acheron's.
The Atlantean goddess of Wrath and Misery, Bethany was born to right wrongs. But it was never a task she relished. Until now. She owes Acheron a debt that she vows to repay, no matter what it takes. He will join their fellow gods in hell and nothing is going to stop her. But things are never what they seem, and Acheron is no longer the last of his line. Styxx and Acheron must put aside their past and learn to trust each other or more will suffer. Yet it's hard to risk your own life for someone who once tried to take yours - even when it's your own twin. And when loyalties are skewed and no one can be trusted, not even yourself, how do you find a way back from the darkness that wants to consume the entire world? One that wants to start by devouring your very soul?

This book was filled with too many horrible things. I stopped reading the book for a few days. Then I went back to finish it. It was a struggle to complete this book. There is very little joy and love in this book. It explained a lot of neck history about Ascheron (sp) but geeze......
This book, like all of Kenyon's novels, was an excellent read and incredibly engaging. However, coupled with the ridiculously talented voice actor, the story was breathed into life. One my top three Kenyon novels of all time and worth every penny!
Although I was unsure of the necessity for all the long background and history I found every part became necessary to get to the current time period. This book is one of my favorites in the series and I didn't think it would be. Well Done!!!
Oh, well this is difficult. I lived the book, but would have preferred the other narrator for consistency of character voices. I have listened to probably 500 audiobooks, I would rank this in the top 10%
When Acheron remembers their real past
Wanted to, but quite impossible. I did finish it in less than three days though.
I did not think Ms Kenyon would ever be able to make me like Styxx. Not only did she accomplish it, she got me to empathize with him and start to dislike Acheron. Don't even get me started on Rhyss
I'm writing the review before in even finished! I've loved this book!! i thought this brother was truly a awful creature then to see the story from his side is just fantastic! The author has done a great job of mixing history with romance, and adventure.. i truly love this book!
i just finished it and have to say it was truly the best of all the series so far.. I LOVED IT!!!!
Truly epic love story with NO dull moments for me. I listened to Acheron first, thoroughly enjoyed it and was curious about Styxx. For anyone hesitating about the different reader... I ended up preferring Mr. Berman's performance to that of the reader for Acheron (can't remember the reader's name). I was REALLY hesitant at first, and almost didn't get Styxx based on the sample reading. I am so glad I gave him a chance, because he brought the characters to life and gave them real personalities. This was a fantastic way to follow up Acheron (speaking as someone unfamiliar with any of Ms. Kenyon's other work) and it seams unfair to read Acheron and NOT read Styxx.
So it's not going to be on University required reading lists and didn't win the Pulitzer...I wasn't expecting such. What I was looking for was pure escapist fantasy with some nicely done erotica and an ideal mix of tragedy, drama and enough laughs for me to say comedy, too, and this delivered in spades.
Sherrilyn Kenyon went above and beyond with this book. I absolutely love Styxx!!! The details and passion that was put into this story is heartfelt and shows the time and effort and dedication that was put into writing this. I've read this time and again and I can't get tired of it.
