Publisher's summary

Annabelle Pearson was in love. For three years, she'd worshipped the sexy but aloof Nicholas Nattrass from afar, wistfully dreaming of a time when he'd love her back, or at the very least notice she existed. All that was about to change, however, when she starts seeing things that she shouldn't, things that couldn't possibly exist, like the Grim Reaper and the Tooth Fairy, for example. The last straw comes when she spots Cupid, about to shoot his arrow at her beloved, and in a desperate bid to save her dream, she wallops him one with her handbag.

Dealing Cupid an almost fatal blow means someone has to take his place, and that someone is her! Will she complete her mission and save Cupid's life? And will she manage to win the love of Nicholas Nattrass, or would the esteemed "Doctor Love" have her committed to an insane asylum?

So original

I'd like to say every book is the same as another but this one is so very original. There were times I was skeptical. Also- there was a time after I listened where I was actually angry- in a good way it turned out because I know I would listen again!

Delightful!

The characters come alive in this book. Plus they're relatable to us and all our wishes and dramas. Plan on listening a second time to make sure I didn't miss one minute of this delightful happy little book. Ms. Karaa gets better with every book, plus the narrator Ms Brogan did a wonderful job. Thank you ladies...

Meh

Never trust a book that calls itself "laugh out loud funny". Mildly amusing but not really funny.

Great Story Line

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

For the story itself, yes. I really enjoyed the story. It did have some funny moments. Did I laugh out loud? 'Fraid not. Did I chuckle? Yea a time or two.

Would you be willing to try another one of Mae Brogan’s performances?

She spoke way too fast. Her sentences ran together too much and she sounded a lot older than the character was portrayed to be. Even my husband complained about it.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No, probably not.

Any additional comments?

Nice story as a whole.

Fun twist on Cupid, but narrator is pretty bad

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I have listened to 600+ books on audible and I only write reviews for really good ones and really bad ones. I'm pretty easy going regarding so-so narrators, but this one was really awful. I was going to ask for a refund, but I held on because I was sick with head cold and was too lazy to get a new book. For some reason, the narrator didn't pause at the end of sentences. The entire book was read as one long run on sentence. It's hard to listen to books like that. The story was okay, cute and funny.

Who was your favorite character and why?

the main character was surrounded by funny, foul-mouthed secretary women. They were a hoot.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Mae Brogan?

Honestly, anyone that knows the English language well would do. Any person that knows how to pause at the end of a sentence. The blame should really go on the producer. Producing takes more than just one person, others must of heard her. It's the fault of everyone.

Do you think Stupid Cupid needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

gosh, umm, no. Sorry.

Any additional comments?

If you like romantic comedy, I really like Molly Harper. Her characters are funny and likable and the narrator is excellent!

This narrator ruins the book.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. I can't stand the way there are no pauses and everthing sounds like a run on sentenece its kind of like the narrator forgot she can pause and emphasize punctuation like a period or comma

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not anything by these women.

Would you be willing to try another one of Mae Brogan’s performances?

Never!!!!!!!!!!

Do you think Stupid Cupid needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, my ears are bleeding already!

Any additional comments?

Please dear god tell me this is the only book she's gotten her hands on?

If you like Brit humor, this one is for you

For 3 years Annabelle Pearson has lusted after solicitor Nicholas Nattrass from afar, hoping one day he'll reciprocate her feelings and notice her. Things change when she places a ring on her finger, bumps her head and starts to see things no one else does.

Annabelle must take up the cause as cupid to resolve problems that was placed in her path without the rest of the world knowing what she's doing.

Definitely British humor. All the lady characters gossip like they just stepped off the screen of Coronation Street. Not my type, but may be yours.

I just couldn’t!

I listen to several books a week. Sometimes the narrator is not the best but I can through the book. I could not get through the first chapter of this book. The narrators voice does not match that of a 30 year old. They are soooo... monotone. It doesn’t matter if they are joking, mad, talking about sex or cursing. It all sounds the same. It’s too bad, the cover was cute and the story sounded cute.
