Publisher's summary

During the rule of her murderous Dark Fae uncle, Thistle "Tricks" Periwinkle found sanctuary among the Wyr in New York. Her ethereal beauty and sparkling personality won the hearts of the public, but after her uncle's death, there are those who don't want to see her ascend to the throne.

Able to wield thunder and lightning, Wyr sentinel Tiago Black Eagle has ruled the skies for centuries. His massive build and thunderous power make him one of the Wyr's best weapons. And he's sent to protect Tricks when she's almost assassinated in Chicago. Soon, both Tiago and Tricks will fall prey to the stormy hunger that engulfs them - a passion that will shake the very foundation of all the worlds.

The Dark Fae’s story

If you follow the Elder Races, you want to read this book; the second in the series. It is well written and gives insights into the Dark Fae court.

I have no explanation why, but these characters and the book are not my favorite in the series. My favorite parts of the story are when Pia gives Tiago Black Eagle an earful (re Niniane Lorelle, formerly Trix, head of PR for Dragos Cuelebre, head of the Wyr demesne); and when Rune meets Carling.

Eastlake does a decent job of narration, but does a better job with female voices.

Excellent continuation

I look forward to reading more about this. It wasn't quite the same as Dragon Bound, but wonderful all the same.

ehhhh

While I am a total fan of the first book in this series, this book wasn't that bad. I did not enjoy it as much as the pia and dragos story, but hey you get what you get. Besides trix is a very funny character.

Love the Elder Races.

Dragos and Pia are funnier, but these two have their moments. Trix had to get too serious to be Ninnian.

Bringer of storms.

The lead up to the romance/mating was hot. I enjoyed this story it made my day at work fly by. I did think the bad guy was a little predictable, but I'm not listening to this for the mystery alone. Okay there is a lot of bash talking about Tricks in other reviews but I liked her. She was sweet, silly, and totally lovable character which is partly a façade to hide the scared woman inside. Just because someone loves shoes and clothes does not make them shallow. Tiago was the perfect opposite for her which gave their coupling a sweet factor when he would do nice things for her. I loved it when Tiago catches the guy with the baggy pants. I have always thought the baggy gangsta look was ridiculous. There is a good lead up for the next story and I will defiantly be getting it. Narrator was pretty good, although the some of the female voices were a little high pitched for my taste.
