A Dom stuck in anger management classes meets his match in his court appointed therapist. Their attraction is off the charts. Unfortunately though, the timing is bad for both of them. Or, at least it is until he discovers his little vanilla doll isn't vanilla at all. Then it's a matter of timing be damned. He can't keep his hands off her. A definite problem, as she has a past to deal with and he has a goal to attain. So when the present rears its ugly head, they are both blindsided. Now they're forced to stare each other down if they hope to have any chance of a future together.

I hardly ever write reviews. So, you know it's got to be bad.
I was so excited to hear the dual narration I bought this book. The first 2 minutes I was convinced someone recruited their neighbor's friends cousin twice removed to record this amiture effort at an audio book.
It was LOUD then too quiet, background noise, big unnatural pauses between sentences. Terrible performances by actors. Stilted, self conscious, voice inflections didn't match the scene and they both Choked on a few funny jokes.
I listened on 1.25 speed and that kept me from calling the production company to curse them out for insulting Audible and its loyal listeners.
Wow, the arrogance and audacity it took to put out such a poorly done recording must be staggering. Audible should be ashamed too for accepting such a thing. I could do so much better with my niece's karaoke machine.
The story is good and scored a 4 out of 5 on my personal hotness scale. I liked the banter between the characters and the battle of wills. I liked the twists of the plot as well.
Note to Riley Murphy.
Take a "hint" and don't try to produce audiobooks in your sister's hairdressers friends cousin's garage and don't use your friends to narrate. It's cheap and offensive.
More books though. Give me a call if you want to record a book. I'll let my grandmothers niece and her cousin narrate and I will clear out my son's daycare so I can make a better recording than you did
Great Sexy Book
I loved both Aries and Jaxx, they had a chemistry that no one could deny.
Stare Me Down by Riley Murphy was a great book. This book was so much fun to read. Aries is a Dom who is in anger management when he meets Jaxx his therapist. I really enjoyed Jaxx and Aries together, their banter was great. I have really enjoyed reading Riley Murphy's books and can't wait to read more by the author.
This is one of my favorite audiobooks. Riley Murphy writes deep characters and has a profound understanding of the BDSM elements she portrays in her books. Jaxx and Aries were complex characters with hidden depths. I loved listening to their battle of wills while he was still in therapy with her. Both are highly intelligent individuals, so it was interesting to see them discover each other’s secrets and hidden talents.
I was really touched by the Alzheimer's scenes in the story. It made me like Aries' character even better.
Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross add life to the story and make me almost feel like I'm watching a movie or real life.
The story was pretty good. You have to keep listening to find out if the characters work out a life together. The quality of the recording is horrible. You have to continually increase and decrease the volume. Very distracting.
Jacks..it was a pleasure listening to her grow and develop.
They did a good job with the characters. Audio quality sucks.
While the story is not that bad (not great) the narration is terrible. The sound goes from too soft to hear to so loud it's uncomfortable.
The BDSM is a little over the top. It borders on cruelty. Remember, less is more.
The story line was wonderful and the chemistry great. I loved the story.
The narration not so good. I really like the guy/girl narration and the two narrators sounded very good, but the quality of the recording was awful. You can hear the recorder/ back ground noise, etc. It actually sounds like to separate recording edited together. BAD.
This story was very good, it is definitely a "read" book.
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
I'm going to start this review by talking about the narration first which was so refreshing.... the male said the male lines and the female said... well you get the drift, so the whole thing flowed like a conversation. I prefer this type of dual narration rather than the usual alternating few chapters type which means the H/H always ends up having two voices, one said by the male narrator and one said... well, again, you get the drift. There were a few echo/timing glitches occasionally but it usually flowed really well and Wen Ross' voice was so sexy ahhhh oh, errrm, now onto the book.
Ramsey (aka Aries) is a handsome charismatic owner of a Sex Club and a Dom, he's forced by the Court into seeing Jaxx a timid mousey Therapist, to talk through his anger management problems but their chemistry is like oil and water total opposites which leads to clever, witty and funny dialogue. But beneath the 'Vanilla' and the 'Dom' lurks some strong chemistry just waiting to be released and when it is there's lots of very hot sex scenes where Jaxx shows just how 'not so Vanilla' she truly is. So, if you're not into BDSM in your romances then stop reading this and move on.
There's great chemistry, secrets, insecurities, a meddling Mother figure, a business plan to pitch to his estranged Brother, the threat of another man claiming what's his and Jaxx who he is slowly, happily and successfully bringing into his world of Dom/Sub. And the witty banter, sex games, intellect, passion and attraction they both share means a funny HEA. So no cliffhanger.
Worth a credit? Only if you like your romances with a lot of hot, no holes barred, sex play.
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
Ramsey - or Aries, as he prefers to be called - gets sent to anger management in a case of justice unserved. Jaxx runs the group he gets sent to, and decides Aries needs additional one-on-one counseling. Really, she just wants to figure him out. Anyway, Aries wants off the psychiatric hook. When he and Jaxx make a deal concerning Rorschach tests, the results are very hawt!
Ramsey is a great hero. He's a truly decent guy. He tries to do the right thing, and helps those close to him. He understands people, and what makes them tick. And he happens to be a Dom who runs a sex club. Aries has plans, though, and to help him achieve his goals, he kind of needs a vanilla dating partner.
Jaxx is about as vanilla as it gets. On the surface, at least. Our heroine has a lot going on under the cover of her Woody Allen-esque glasses and restrictive hair style. I love how upfront and honest Jaxx is about her submissive desires, and from where the desires stem.
These two trade rapid-fire barbs throughout the book. They are both very intelligent, pretty determined and extremely competitive. Watching them circle each other is a lot of fun. Jaxx tries to keep up with Aries' plans and tricks, but our hero is very good at getting the upper hand.
There is a lot going on in Stare Me Down. Jaxx's mentor is a control freak, Aries' father's illness and Aries' subsequent estrangement from his brother are revealed. Maggie, Jaxx's mentor, brings a potential sperm donor over from Germany for Jaxx, and Aries' reaction to the German is too, too funny! I'm laughing just thinking about it.
Bottom line - I really liked Ms. Murphy's style. The story flows well, the characters are terrific and there is no shortage of laughs. Stare Me Down is sizzling hot, very sweet, and really funny. This is my first title by her, but will not be my last. Time and money well spent.
The sound quality was not so good. I really like the guy/girl narration and the two narrators sounded very good, but the quality of the recording was awful. You can hear the recorder/ back ground noise, etc. It actually sounds like to separate recording edited together. BAD.

Read/Listen, Review and Recommend!
Aries, is sent to anger management and his doctor is Jaxx. He so doesn’t want to be there so he comes up with a tit for tat kind of thing. I love the beginning of this book it was so different fun and fresh.
It was funny and awesome all at the same time. He totally set her up I loved it.
I enjoyed this book but I didn’t love it, I don’t want to say that but the one character she put a damper on the whole book for me she was just too much. She was Jaxx’s mothers .. friend? I don’t’ know but she just wasn’t a character I liked at all.
I did like the way Aries and Jaxx fell for each other it wasn’t one who fell first it was a together kind of thing. I also really enjoyed the fact that he didn’t need to introduce her to the BDSM, well he did but he didn’t she already had an idea and she was all naive about it.
I also loved when he made her go shopping lordy bee I was giggling myself silly.
And Omg my heart melted when Aries help the lady next door. Shows what a little bit of attention can do for someone, I loved that to the moon and back made me like Aries that much more.
I usually love the dual narration, but not so much with this book, I had a lot of background noise noting I could make out but it was there, or there were times I had to make sure my volume was all the way up and still had trouble hearing then I would have to lower the volume because of a loud or yelled word, the gasps and moans I liked, but yeah not really sure just wasn’t my favorite audio.
The story felt cliche in its tone, characters and rhythm. The performance is so awful, I thought I couldn't make it past the first 2 minutes. After purchasing this book, I did read one review that suggested listening at 1.25x narration speed, which helped- but only slightly. About halfway through, when that story really should be heating up, I found myself bored with the storyline, universities in the characters and thoroughly annoyed with the performers.
I think I will ask for my credit back, because this one is awful.....
