Publisher's summary

Genevieve Buchanan inherited a castle—and a ghost to go along with it. But Kendrick de Piaget was no typical ghost. He was a handsome and infuriatingly arrogant 13th-century knight. At first, he wanted to frighten Genevieve, though she was more charmed than scared by his ghostly tricks. But when his thoughts turned to wooing her instead, Genevieve had to face her greatest fear: falling in love.

This is the one that got me hooked on Lynn Kurland and her stories

I absolutely LOVE Lynn Kurland and her stories. The De Piaget and Macleod family stories….. fabulous. Each one gets me more hooked. I have read and re-read every one one them in my possession. I anxiously await each new installment of her stories. She never ceases to amaze.

If you have not read Lynn c
Kurland's De Piaget series, Your seriously missing out of fabulous storyline that will take you hundreds of years into the past. The characters are rich the scenery is sublime and the story is literally out of this world.

Kendrick Emasculated

If you could sum up Stardust of Yesterday in three words, what would they be?

My favorite book

What did you like best about this story?

I loved that Kendrick loved Genevieve and Genevieve loved Kendrick so much that it transcended the curse.

What didn’t you like about Ilyana Kadushin’s performance?

Everything! There was no emotion behind the performance. She took all the humanness out of the characters. She gave Kendall this breathy woman's voice when she should have given him a strong, arrogant, sensitive and sexy voice. Kendrick is a braggart like Robin, his dad. He should have been gruff and funny. She also gave the voices of her characters no inflection at all. Kendrick was nothing like the character she portrays. She emasculated him. I know he was a ghost but she took all his substance away, all his humor and emotion. I am sooo very disappointed because I love this book and was looking forward to listening to it over and over again. I wish I could send it back to Audible and get another book with a better reader. How did this woman get this job!! Please, let Davina Porter(exceptional reader), Simon Preble or even Jenny Sterlin( although she makes her characters sound mentally underdeveloped because she speaks too slowly sometimes) re-read this book. At least they know how to define an audio character. This woman should seek a new career or at least a new genre of book to read.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yeah. When he tells her that he doesn't hear her packing, when he calls her at the hotel room in London. I love that whole phone conversation! Then I love it when the Inspector drives her back to the castle and Kendrick is standing there waiting for her looking all sexy and they have this mental conversation thing going. I love this book!

Any additional comments?

Is it possible to have a new reader read this book? I would be willing to purchase the book if they have a new reader read the book. I am afraid to buy any more Lynn Kurland audiobooks for fear that this Kadushin lady will butcher them.

Not as good as i had hoped...

This book was exciting and interesting in the beginning...about a young woman who mysteriously lost her business and therefore felt forced to accept an inheritance from a distant and unknown relative. She inherited a huge castle and more money than she could even spend in 10 lifetimes. Upon moving in she learned that all her relatives before her were now either dead or crazy after inheriting the castle themselves. What was the catch? Unfortunately, less than half way into the book, the excitement fizzled out and it turned into a stereotypical romance novel...perfect, strapping, sexually experienced man and a 30 something female virgin...on and on and on. This book could have been much better. I take partial responsibility for my dissapointment by mistaking this for an adventure/ mystery novel rather than a romance - my less than favorite genre.

Good book.

Enjoyable book. By the time I got past the first chapter it was very hard to stop listening. A few good and unexpected twists which for myself I didn't see it coming. Which just that in itself for me makes a good listen.

A bit lame

The plot was fairly interesting but the romance was a bit juvenile. It was nice in a 'little girl dreaming of her knight in shining armor' kinda way, but it was a bit lame.

I didn't get it.

I have to admit this is my 1st romance novel, so perhaps I'm not qualified to review this. I love some of the ideas in this book, castles, knights, ladies in distress, love despite impossible obsticles etc (I dress up & go to Ren. Faires for goodness sake), but this book just came across as a bit cheesy to me, I found myself rolling my eyes quite a bit. I found that I just couldn't "suspend my disbelief" for many of the situations, and I found myself thinking "oh yea, RIGHT!"

Totally wrong voice for Kendrick

The story is entertaining although too long and has many inconsistencies. But a Lynn Kurland hero needs an appropriately deep and manly voice. Yuck.
