Publisher's Summary

Island Chaptal - nerdy IT engineer by day, romance novel junkie by night - just walked into her messy New York apartment to find Mr. Right waiting for her. No, wait...Mr. Clean.

A gentleman professional killer with a bad case of OCD and zero tolerance for unsorted laundry, March isn't there to kill her...yet. He wants the diamond her late mother stole for a sinister criminal organization. Island agrees to help him find it, facing the kind of adversaries who dismember first and ask questions later. Good thing she's got March to show her the ropes. And the guns. And the knives.

The buttoned-up Island is soon having a blast racing from Paris to Tokyo following the clues in her mother's will, and for the first time, she's ready to get close to someone. But falling for a hit man may be the very definition of loving dangerously.

"Has everything you ever want in a book"

I loved this book. Its our of my normal genre but something caught my eye and I am glad it did. Spotless is a fun read with everything you need; laughs, tears, adventure and a small amount of romance.. I think the author and the narrator both did an amazing job with the multiple languages and made the translations clear for the readers.

It is defiantly worth a credit and your time. Now off to read the next one.

    "OCD killer meets messy Island"
Would you listen to Spotless again? Why?

Absolutely! This book has everything I enjoy in a great book. I had a hard time stopping from listening to drag myself back into reality. I didn't want it to end and I'm glad that this is a series so that I get to delve further into March's past. The only thing that I had a hard time with is the little quotes at the start of each chapter from romance novels. I found them a little cheesy and took away from the great intense story line at times. They really are cringe worthy.

Who was your favorite character and why?

March. What an interesting guy he is. However, all of the main characters are all so different that I have a hard time just choosing one.

What about Amy McFadden’s performance did you like?

Wow what a dynamite performance! I was sucked into Amy's performance with ease. I believe that this book with all the different languages is one that needs to be listened to to get the right effect. If Amy hadn't done the narration with the different voices and accents it wouldn't have stood a chance at being so great. Well done. I look forward to the rest of the series to be reunited with my fantasy world of March, Island and co.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Hell yes! Just wish that life didn't get in the way!

    Any additional comments?

    I want more!

What do you get when you combine an OCD "cleaner" with a virgin?
A fun, suspenseful and complex story.
Yes, there are guns involved and some uh... killing and a kidnapping - but the story is so much more!
Amy McFadden does a brilliant narration. Her typical reading is quite precise and I may have even whined about that in a previous review. I take it all back. I'm sorry, Amy. She gave tension, humor, plus FRENCH & JAPANESE - for heaven's sake!
    Beautifully done Amy!
Ms. Monk, you have a fan. I can't download the next book quickly enough!

    "Funny and Entertaining"

There is nothing original between the acrimony between a kidnapper (March) and the hostage (Island). There is nothing original between the undercurrent of attraction between a man and a woman. This is not the first tale of kidnapper and hostage to form a truce and trust where they work together. What is different, March has an obsessive cleanness disorder and Island is a twenty something virgin. March is constantly cleaning, he cleans her apartment while waiting to kidnapped her. Island is constantly fantasying about being deflowered by March.

They race around the world with March killing and Island judging his actions trying to find an item her mother hid. They are thrown into a situation where they must trust each other and depend on each other. Yet, every time March tells Island to say where she is, he finds that she is behind him. Or if March becomes incapacitated, Island is the most dangerous person to her and other with a gun.

The dialogue is funny and the story addictive.

I love Amy McFadden!! She brings the story alive. Each character is their own person. She doesn't just read the story, she pulls you into the story. And it does help that the story was fun and entertaining too. Getting ready to get the next one in the series.

    "Eating live animals? really?"

I like this series but there are just too many things that are absurd and only for shock value. I could live with the grown woman who wanted to lose her virginity in the first book. But this time around she's still hanging on for dear life even when with a nice patient guy who she likes. Please.
I still wanted to know where the real plot was going until the main characters started eating live animals. I assume this was just for the shock value and really had nothing to do with the story. Enough. If this is where the book is going when the author is talented enough to write interesting scenes without this crap, I'm stopping here.
