Story
Lady Pearyn Treedale has been affianced to Cameron Spencer, the Duke of Partridgdon, since she was eight years old. An archaic practice, but a situation she’s come to enjoy. At her formal introduction to society, she wasn’t like the other debutantes. While they all searched for husbands, she made friends, had titillating conversations, and did whatever pleased her. Her fiancé had the good grace to be absent most of her life. Then, the duke went on his world tour, and decided never to return to England, allowing Lady Pear a freedom most ladies never experience.

Story
As war moves ever closer, the sleepy English village of Crowmarsh Priors settles into a new sort of normal: Evacuees from London are billeted in local homes. The nightly German air raids become grimly mundane. Rationing curtails every comfort. Men leave to fight and die. And five women forge a bond of friendship that will change their lives forever in this engrossing novel of loyalty, loss, and love in the shadow of World War II.With the hardships of war intensifying every day, the women band together to defeat formidable enemies and find remarkable strength within themselves to help one another. It is a war-forged loyalty certain to endure years and distance. When four of the women return for a celebration fifty years later, their mission is not simply to commemorate or remember. They’ve returned to confront a traitor whose actions cost countless lives — and to avenge one of their own at last.

Great Listen.
Strangely, I had listened to the audiobook version of this story over a month ago and had forgotten to write a review for it. Because of that, which has never happened before, this was a good story and didn't have any issues. Whenever there are issues in a story, I'm usually left with multiple notes laying around for me to include in my review and there were no notes for this story.
Anyways, this was the first story in this series that I've read or listened to. It was a different kind of historical story in that it involved time travel, which I found interesting. It's definitely left me wanting to get my hands on the previous stories in this series.

Romance with a time travel twist
Driven by revenge, Lady Callista makes it her mission to avenge the death of her fiancé. When she finds herself pulled into the future, she has no way of knowing if she was successful in her "final act". Now she's faced with being in an unusual and unfamiliar time.
This is the first story by Dawn Brower that I have listened to, and I'll definitely be looking for more. What a storyteller... I found myself totally immersed in the storyline.
Sierra Kline delivered a fantastic performance.

A wonderful sereis
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this to anyone who likes romance and a little bit of time travel.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this story. I have read some of the other books in the series and it always feels nice to reconnect with favourite characters. I prefer the time travel to be more focused on travelling back in time rather than a character jumping forward to the present but I enjoyed this story nevertheless. My only complaint is that it was over too quick.
I look forward to reading more in this series.

Great read and listen..
Another time travel story about Zane and Callista. This time she came forward, which is always a lot of fun, when first seeing how women dress in the 21st century, the transportation, phones, electricity, and so on.
This one was totally different inasmuch as Zane knew that Trenton was going to go back in time to find Eve, who had also fallen back in time, too. I’m looking forward to Trenton and Eve’s story.
There was explicit sex in this story and the F-bomb was used 1 time.
As to the narration: Sierra Kline was a little over-dramatic at times and she didn’t laugh when the book called for it BUT her men sounded like men so I can overlook everything else. There's NOTHING worse than a tall-handsome-deep talking-hero that sounds exactly like a girl.

My Favorite of the series!
I am a huge Dawn Brower fan so I love all her books. But I love this series in particular the most. Having said that, this is my favorite book of the series so far. I how strong and independent Callisto is but she's in a situation of vulnerability so she has no choice but to relay on Zane. That drives her crazy. Not sure why but I the Marques of Seabrook are my favorite leading male characters. Both past and present. Love love love the book. Love the series. Love love love the author and Sierra Kline did an amazing job with the narration

Regency Lady in Modern Times
This is a relatively early book in the multi-generational time-travel series Linked Across Time. This one has an unusual time-travel direction, from Regency England to the present day. The heroine was attempting to kill the man who killed her beloved when she tumbles into the sea and emerges in the present day. The book is relatively short, with little angst or much development. However, I still found it charming. The heroine was a gutsy lady back in her time, supposedly one of the pre-eminent female spies during the Napoleonic Wars. Once she realizes she's time-traveled, which does take a bit, she's intrigued by the future and quite glad to be here. She certainly had a few shocks along the way, like seeing a young man who looked so much like her beloved, as the present-day man would have been a distant, non-direct relation. The contemporary hero would have likely been considered a rake had he been alive in her time. While he doesn't intend it, he's quite amusing to watch and “listen” to. It's fun to watch him fall hard for the lady rather quickly after we’ve just heard him pondering being bored with women and hoping for someone a bit different but not expecting much. I felt like there could have been more to the story—and certainly, aspects to do with other couples were not wrapped up—and perhaps I just wanted it to be so because I enjoyed these characters, and I wanted to see more about how the heroine adapted to modern times. While you don't have to have read prior books in this series to fully understand this one, your enjoyment of it will likely be increased if you at least have a little background with the series. A delight!

So romantic
Great story. Great narRator. I couldn't stop listening. A few familiars popped in to say hello. I loved seeing the time traveler come to the future and be able to experience her reaction to modern conveniences. I highly recommend this book to romance fans . And of course, Genevieve is still missing somewhere in the past.

Zane & Callista
The fifth book in the Linked Across Time series. Zane Rossington, the Marquess of Seabrook and Lady Callista Lyon, the Countess of Marin meet when she comes to his time. The story is well written with a very good storyline, with suspense, drama, danger a villain and romance. I enjoyed listening to their story, the narrator Sierra Kline does a very good job in bringing this story to life.

Exciting fun listen that makes you chuckle
Revenge is sweet but what good is revenge if you don’t know if you did it right on not? Callista has it all line up the plan is set in motion but things never go as planned as we all know. Just as she is about to take out the man who killed her beloved she is taken to another place in time leaving so many unanswered questions. Zane is down on life, love and just about everything else, he has a party every year honoring his mothers memory but this year he is hating all the people around and just wants to be left alone. He is thinking this may be the last year he does this. Now he has to put up with the brother who is trying to find his lost love and is so sure she has time traveled. What else could go wrong, how about a woman appearing right before his eye and the question she leads to with few answers….
I have not had the pleasure of listening to any of Ms. Kline audios, when I pick this up to listen to I was unsure what to expect. She has a delightful voice as well as character voices. I love the nice steady way she narrators with pause and emotions that pull you in. I love the emotions she gives this audio you can hear the passion, teasing, hurt, pain, sorrow and joy through her voice. Her character voices are outstanding you always know who is talking, what they are feeling as well as the power those emotions deal with. There are no background noises, no repeating of words and no volume changes. I could not tell if any breaks were taken it’s a very clean and clear audio that I totally enjoyed. Her normal voice is as wonderful as her character voices. She has a voice I could listen to all day and never get tired of it.
I really love time travel but what I really love about it is how someone would feel if they come from the past to the future. Oh what fun that would be to see their faces as they learn about cars, planes, TV etc. The author has give a delightful story of one lady falling into the future learning all those things we take for granted from fast food to buying clothes off the rack. This was very well-thought-out with great detail and passion. I loved how it all played out keeping the read in suspense. The twists and turns were great, it was an audio I couldn’t put down finding things to do as I chuckled and even laughed a few times. I love how strong Callista and how she messes with Zane, I also enjoyed how Zane worked it all out and how well they complement each other. There are a few questions that Callista has as well as the read, but they are all nicely rounded up at the end with a wonderful twist you won’t see coming. Come take an adventure and see time travel as you never have with delightful twists and turns that will hook you and keep you very entertained. I have really enjoyed this series and can’t wait for the next one to come out.

Really great story!!
i listened to the audiobook.
i really really liked this book. it was a quick listen, so there wasn't a lot of character development, but i didn't mind. it isn't super steamy- which i enjoyed, it left more time for the plot.
The narrator is great. the accent worked well for me and the narration brought the book to life for me.
Since i only have the Romance package and, at the moment these books are not part of it, so i can't listen to any more but, if they were, i would totally get the rest and listen right now. they are that good.
this is part of a series, but honestly it was still good without reading the rest, i understood what was happening but there is something going on that either is a precursor for the next book or something from the past books. listen to them all!!
I was given this book in order to give an honest review. this is mine. i loved it!
