Emma Callaway, a hot fire investigator clashes with Max Harrison, a cool homicide detective in So This is Love, the second book in the Callaway Series, by #1 NY Times Bestselling Author Barbara Freethy.
For Max Harrison, love seduces and then destroys. His brother went to prison for love. His father left his family for love. And Max is determined not to follow in their footsteps, until he meets Emma...
Emma runs into burning buildings without an ounce of fear and embraces life as if every day is a new adventure. But while she's fearless on the job, Emma is a coward when it comes to love. Betrayed by an ex-boyfriend, Emma has no intention of putting her heart on the line again, until she meets Max...
As the fires around the city rage, the heat between them ignites in a blaze of passion that's far more dangerous. Will it destroy them or will they finally get everything they ever wanted?

Not a bad story, may have been ok if I'd read it rather than listening. This audio book, however, had a strange narration style that distracted me from the story. For example, in some places it was obvious that a sentence had extended onto a new line or new page because of odd pauses between words that was in no way related to what was being said.
To my friends who love a good mystery and a love story.
They were such a good team not only in love.
Loved when Max went to meet her family.
where the mysteries are solved together
Both versions are really good.
Emma! I loved her determination and courage.
I loved when Emma met Max's brother for the first time. He had some great things to say about Max!
There are a few scenes that were moving between Max and his family or between Max and Emma.
I love this series and each book can be enjoyed as a standalone. The Callaway's are a great family!
I skipped a lot of this book. Repetitive, and annoying. I'm not sure why I didn't dump it except that I feel that is giving up which goes against my nature. But it's hours I'll never get back:-(
This was an interesting mystery and charming love story.
It compares well to All A Heart Needs also by Barbara Freethy. Sadly I wrote my review on that one that actually applies to this book.
Emily speaks clearly and gives life to the various chacters.
Yes, I did tear up a time or two. I was embarrassed by the intimate details.
I will try to change my review that appears on the other great book by Barbara Freethy and provide a proper one.
