I have enjoyed every book by Lisa Kleypas but this story was completely ruined by the narrator.
I loved this storyline and the other two books in the series were great too. I give the story 5 stars .... the narrator gets 1 stars. Her accent was fake and forced compared to the other two narrated books. I wouldn't waste your money on the audible book. Buy the book and read it... I did and enjoyed it much more than the audible version..
Pretty standard romance story. Kind of predictable, but the likable factor of the main characters makes up for that. Good narration.
I read so I can write
Normally I rate Kleypas novels very high. This one disappointed me some. For one thing, I was not happy with the narration. It just wasn't as good as I think someone else might have been with the accents
The story disappointed because the characters weren't all very realistic. Ella supposedly had overcome a really destructive childhood, but struck me as being a pathetic and willing victim of her mother and sister and boyfriend. When she turns from that particular boyfriend to one who is a major Alpha male, the switch isn't realistic. .
The plot itself could have been better played out in my opinion. Of course it is only my opinion.
I did as others suggested and listened to all of Lisa Kleypas books in order. The first two were much better than this one. I am with the others that the narrator is bad and she probably had a lot to do with why this one didn't seem as good. As far as the story, I didn't like this one because the female lead character was too weak. She let her mother run her over, sister run her over and I didn't like her. The romance was sweet but I still think the first book was the best. The story of Liberty and Gage was much better than Jack and Ella.
