12 step program please. I am addicted to Audible! I love trashy sexy books, award winning novels and everything between. Bring it!
I didn't realize this was a series when I purchased the book on sale (sometimes I'm a little too eager to buy during audible sales) so this was my first introduction to the Travis clan. I liked the story but the characters didn't make sense to me. Here is Jack a total alpha male who is business savvy, interesting, super sexed, and possessive. Then there is Ella who is supposed to Ms. Independent but comes off rather weak and pathetic. His passion didn't match hers. She seemed clueless, and lacked total confidence. Of course she has some likable bits but for the most part I found her kinda blah. I wish her character wasn't so insecure. Their passion would have been more believable. Also, the narrator's voice only weakened this audio.
Still, there are enough enjoyable bits to this book. It is fast paced. The story is good, it just left me wanting for better narration and better character development.
can't find something negative to say just can't
i have always beein proud of the fact that im really hard to be totally pleaced with a book
i'm a big fan of lisa kleypas, but i was very skeptical that she could do the transition from historical to
contemporaRY ROMANCES AND EVen if she could there was no way they could be as good as her historicals
Big Mistake on my part not only it has all the kleypas magic but also is one of her best
and saying this book was a page turner is the understatement of the century
i finished the book in a little bit more than 24 hours
the story is so entertaining and so romantic i couldn't put it down
now about the hero

11th/12th Grade Reading Teacher Love reading and love listening to audio books in my car.
Jack Travis is the 3rd guy to fall in love with in this series. In many ways he's the best. I sort of wish this series could go on, but I'll probably try other books by the author.
This is the first Lisa Kleypas book I've listened to. I enjoyed the story, but the narration was not up to the quality I've come to expect of books listed on Audible. I'd return it if I could, just for that reason.
After having some audiobooks ruined for me by bad narrators, I almost didn't buy this one based on a review or two saying the narrator was bad, but there were reviews saying the narrator was fine, so I took a chance. Initially the narrator sounded like she had a slight lisp, but that eventually either went away or I just couldn't hear the slight sound anymore. I thought this book was delightful. I'm glad I decided to give Ms. Kleypas a try. I agree with the other reviewers. Hear all three in order and have fun!
I have listened to the first two chapters of this book and won't listen further. The narrator is terrible! And the beginning of the book is nothing like what's described in the summary, other than a truthful description of Austin and Houston. I do not want to read a book about a dysfunctional mother/daughter relationship, I was looking for a little escape-through-romance. I feel like I wasted my monthly credit.
I listen to audible with a pile of cats all over me. It's "FUR-tastic!"
Lisa Kleypas is an excellent romance writer. I thought the story line was okay and the characters to be interesting. I wasn't blown away by the story. Lisa usually writes historical romances so this is a switch for her. I think the performer was very good.
I was told "this is not the typical bodice ripper. It's a very good story". No, I'm afraid not. The premise of the story was promising, then it went away. If you're into to descriptive sex this book is for you. I wanted the story. It was a waste of a credit. I will not waste any more time on this.
I like romance stories, and I thought the characters were realistic.
This book is comparable to many other modern romance books. Better than a lot of them.
The shower scene.
Someone to Watch Over Me.
The only problem I had was sometimes she would use the same voice for different characters.
I read so I can write
Normally I rate Kleypas novels very high. This one disappointed me some. For one thing, I was not happy with the narration. It just wasn't as good as I think someone else might have been with the accents
The story disappointed because the characters weren't all very realistic. Ella supposedly had overcome a really destructive childhood, but struck me as being a pathetic and willing victim of her mother and sister and boyfriend. When she turns from that particular boyfriend to one who is a major Alpha male, the switch isn't realistic. .
The plot itself could have been better played out in my opinion. Of course it is only my opinion.
