Publisher's summary

A powerful hit man, Gideon is the master of the game in a jet-setting world dominated by money, women, and violence. Living off the grid, making love on the run, he makes his living as a contract killer by enacting the revenge of the brokenhearted...for a price.

One woman taught him to kill, another motivates him to succeed in the business of revenge. If he can amass a million dollars, the woman he desires has promised to run away with him.

For her sake, Gideon takes a high-profile job that earns him dangerous enemies, and hops a plane to London hoping to escape the aftermath. On the plane he meets two mysterious women - have they been sent to bring him down? Have his past transgressions caught up with him at last? Or will one of these strangers help him choose a life of love over a life of violence?

In this underworld of grifters and killers, brokenhearted squares and streetwalkers, loyal fans will spot some familiar faces from Dickey's previous books. A thrilling ride through extremes of love and danger, Sleeping with Strangers thrives on the darker passions of revenge and desire.

Shout-out from Katy, TX!!!

Since EJD gave some love to Katy, Texas in this book, it seems only right that I send some back! The author mentioned streets in my neighborhood with such familiarity that I expected see Bruno (the hit man) at the gas station one day. This was a terrifying game of cat and mouse that had me on the edge of my seat every chapter. I was thrilled to see that the story was continued in a second book because I couldn't get enough of these characters. The narrator made the story even better. Bravo!

I'm Hooked

This was my first audible and i couldn't have picked a more perfect Author! Ive read several other EJD works, but to listen to Sleeping With Strangers was an absolute treat. My new job doesn't allow me the time to steal away and read, so i threw on the earphones at work, and found myself staring at the computer, taking in every word of the awsome narrator! A must read/listen. I cant wait to finish the trilogy. Godfather... Watch out! lol

I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON!!!!

What did you like best about Sleeping with Strangers? What did you like least?

I like the character development. The author takes his time creating the backdrop of the characters which underscored their actions through out the story. I did not like the general pace. I felt some areas were drawn on too long, and some elements rushed. Also, the story was somewhat predictable. I was also upset about the ending and have not rushed to listen to Waking with Enemies, which is the sequel.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It was enjoyable, but..... I it could have been better. Yes, this is a fiction, but it seemed unrealistic at times and overly sensationalized.

What does Dion Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Dion Graham is the reason why I did not stop the story.

Was Sleeping with Strangers worth the listening time?

It helped me to pass time; it wasn't a book that I sought out to listen to quickly. I had to take breaks from it.

Definitely not sleeping.........

Where does Sleeping with Strangers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was good. It started off a little slow for me.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would like to have had more information on Gideon's past earlier in the book.

Which character – as performed by Dion Graham – was your favorite?

Gideon of course. He's complicated.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction. The writer leaves you wanting to know more about Gideon. I wondered if he would ever really have a "happy ending".

Any additional comments?

Just purchased Waking with Enemies.

This was my first listen by Mr. Dickey however it certainly won't be my last. I loved the characters Lola!! Dion Graham did an absolutely amazing job changing his voice throughout the story!!!! This book had on the edge of your seat nail bitting drama!! Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Interesting.

The new book of this series caught my eye and I decided to start from the beginning. It's been awhile since I last read an EJD novel. Probably Naughty or Nice in my teenage years. The idea of a sexy black Assassin caught my attention. I think it will be easy to care about what happens to our main character, Gideon. The book had more action than I expected and slightly suspenseful. And as it always is with EJD, he gave us some steamy sex scenes.

I did not care for Lola Mack's introduction. Some people may think it's cute, but I found her rather annoying. This seems to be an general idea and accepted description of how young Black women behave. Well it should not be accepted. As the book progressed I think she is going to play a deeper role in Gideon life. I just hope her character develops into someone less... I can't even think of what to label her behavior.

I've never been a fan of Arizona. It was funny to hear EJD state she was one of his favorites. I'm hoping that Gideon does not end up with her. I'd rather it be loud mouthed Lola Mack than stuck up Arizona.

This was my first book with this narrator. He did well. Men narrators cam really struggle with changing their voice. Dion Graham was able to give some realistic sounding women and some decent accents. At least the sounded real enough to me, but I'm not from the UK :-)

On the edge seeker

This book was so good that I had to listen to it more than once. I highly recommend this and the Walking with Enemies audiobooks. These two books keep you guessing all the way to the end. Great book.

What a great listen

I am very pleased with this series 4 books as of now. Mr. Dickey's writing is not in question, he takes you on an adventure. I am tooo thrilled with our narrator Dion Graham, he is worth following in everything he does.
This is a series that follows Gideon a contract killer. To call him a "hit man" would be an insult. This audible takes you to places you haven't been in enough detail that if you ever go to any of these location you will remember details from this book.
Not sure if there are good guys and bad guys but I was interested in all the characters. There are enough hot and steamy parts to interest men and women. You will laugh and you will stay glued to your headsets.
