Wonderful Surprise!

I had never before heard of this series before listening to the audiobook and I have to say that this is quite the pleasant surprise. I love fantasy books and I have recently started to enjoy romance books, but I never before imagined the two genres could be combined. Nalini Singh has done a fantastic job of mixing two together. I picked this book mainly for the fantasy appeal, but as I began listening to it, seeing the world that Sasha and Lucas lived, I definitely could tell that I was going to enjoy this. The plot was not a cliche at all and the characters, all of them, were very well developed. The only bad that I would have to say about the book is the chapters seemed to stop in odd places and it didn't help that the narrator did not pause long enough to allow the listener to register that a new chapter was taking place. If the pause was a little longer, the odd spots for new chapters wouldn't seem as odd. Besides that little annoyance, the book is wonderful and I will one of the fan girls that I will be on the look out for other books from this series.

Finally!

At last the Psy-Changeling Series is being created in audio format. I hope that the rest of the series is released very quickly! And fortunately they have a very good narrator to go with the excellent text.

Most excellent start to series

Have I mentioned before that I’m a Nalini Singh fan? I’ve owned the ebooks and audiobooks for several years now and realized I didn’t write a review for this. As I appreciate Ms Singh’s creativity and efforts, I know I need to support her with my effort;-)
This is an excellent series and this book is an excellent start. Singh has created a world mid 21st century where there are ordinary humans; there are the Psy - humans with various Psychic gifts; and Changelings - those with both an animal and human forms. The Psy have promoted the claim that they have no killers and eliminating their emotions has made them the smartest “race” to rule society. Lucas Hunter, alpha of the DarkRiver leopard pack knows this is a lie as they lost a beautiful young woman to a Psy serial killer. He has negotiated a deal between his pack, the Snow Dancer wolves and Psy Councillor Nikita Duncan in order to try and gain access to Psy information resources, which comes in the form of Nikita’s daughter Sascha Duncan. Lucas finds that Sascha has secrets of her own; and there’s a much more personal reason he needs to spend time with her.
Dawe does a great job of narration with clear differentiation between characters and emotions.

Pretty good

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because the storyline and narration were both pretty good.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Slave to Sensation?

The "steamy" parts :)

What about Angela Dawe’s performance did you like?

She was good overall.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really

Any additional comments?

Author used the word "lethal" too many times. Otherwise, it was well done.

A World Of Cold yet Intriguing characters

The story line, world structure, & character depth was very intriguing. The book began a bit too slowly for my taste, but I'm really glad I continued to read. I thoroughly enjoyed book one and will begin the second book in the series immediately!

Which scene was your favorite?

When Sasha realizes that she has capabilities beyond her Psy mentality to feel.

Do you think Slave to Sensation needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

It's part of a series so no.

Worth your Credit!

I read this as an ebook years ago and loved it, and I now love the audio book just as much. It's well- written, engaging, and original. A great example of the best things about this genre. You won't regret it!

Not for me

My sister sent me this book as an example of genre she reads. Nothing wrong with the book, but is not to my taste.
