Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact he didn't even believe in them. Biting your own tongue with your fangs does a lot of convincing. Even so, being a part-time undead isn't as easy as you might think. Really Enjoyable
While everyone is certainly entitled to his/her opinion, I find it interesting the diversity of opinions from people who have read the same book. I've read all of the Anita Blake books. I've enjoyed them all. Unlike some readers,I've also enjoyed the ones that are more character-centric, even if that means lots of sex scenes. I don't believe those scenes were gratutious, but added to Hamilton's story. This book was long, but it held my attention and I thought the ending was terrific. My only "complaint" is that I missed hearing about Jean Claude, Micah, Asher, etc. I thought the book was well worth the listen. Anita Blake fans will not be disappointed.

Laurell K Hamilton is my favorite author...I have never read a book by her that I did not love. The murder scenes and sex scenes are grafic and detailed, which is not surprising for an Anita Blake book. I liked the narrator, Loved the book. If you like crazy supernatural stories, download it!

Mystery, fantasy, and amazing characters grab you
This is a murder mystery set in a world with vampires, wereanimals, law enforcement and psychics. The plot moves along quickly with plenty of action with new and old characters. Laurell K Hamilton did not disappoint.

SO GLAD KIMBERLY ALEXIS IS BACK
There are no words to describe how much better listening to an Anita Blake story is when Kimberly Alexis is the narrator. Jean Claude' s voice sounds so much better. I struggled through the last few books on audio. if it wasn't for the great writing by Laurell K. Hamilton and my busy schedule, I might have just given up on the series through those few books. Whoever's decision that was to switch narrators should have their ears check. Or at least look into a new profession. If its not broke don't fix it. ( now back to my beloved stories as they should be...lol)

AMAZING!! Sexy and Suspenseful!
Laurell K. Hamilton does it again! The Anita Blake Series is by far one of the best out there! If you want something fun, sexy, suspenseful, and just great writing this is your series!!

I have followed your series since I was a teen.
loved it! Ms Hamilton did not disappoint with her hero showing once again how she can catch you on the 1st page. I have been reading these novels since #1. What a wonderful character to get lost with. I bow to her excellents. I am 64 y/o now. I re-read the books often.

Awesome Blake story
Love that Anita's back doing her thing. A bit less Ardeur/sex please? Getting tired of it. But thoroughly enjoyed Anita fighting the monsters again and learning more about her powers and working with other metaphysical types. Thanks! :) would buy again!
