Publisher's summary

There's a Fine Line Between Sin and Salvation…

Ellie Watt is a woman on the run. Raised by a pair of thieves who taught her the art of the grift - and pursued by a mobster who fell for her con - she hopes to find refuge at her uncle's farm in quiet Palm Valley, California. Ellie swears she's through with her life of crime. But before she knows it, she's right back in the game when she meets an easy mark who's too good - and too hot - to be true.

His name is Camden McQueen. A master tattoo artist and a total inked stud, Camden is nothing like the awkward kid who crushed on Ellie back in high school. Now, as owner of the wildly successful Sins & Needles, he's got tats to kill for, muscles to die for, and money to burn. Ellie can't believe the transformation - and can't resist pulling off one last con. But when Camden catches Ellie red-handed, the tables are turned. The mark becomes the master. And when the ultimate player gets played, you never know who's going to end up on top…

WHOA WHAT A FREAKING RIDE

Any additional comments?

WHAT A FREAKING FANTABOULOUS LISTEN!!!!! Where do I even begin there is so much happening with this story between Eden/Ellie, Camden, and Javier that I didn’t want it to end constantly craving for more. This is not your typical love story this is real, raw people fighting to stay above ground and plotting for their next scam even if it someone they love. Yeah I know you’re like seriously and yes I’m serious this read is off the freaking charts AWESOME. There were moments when I was on the edge of my seat and wanted to freaking scream I knew it or OHHHHHH crap what now! Even though there is more scheming than anything in this book there is some sexy time and it is very very HOTT. I’m still very torn between Javier/Camden after this one and even more so after finishing On Every Street and this does not happen to me often usually I can make a stance and stick to it but these 2 guys I just don’t know. I LOVE THEM BOTH and yes I know I shouldn’t love Javier but dang I guess I’m just as messed up in the head as Eden/Ellie is. If you have not been consumed by Ellie Watt and the gang what are you waiting on go you will not be disappointed, I’m mad it took me so long to get on board.

My only disappointment is that I have to read the other 2 books cause there is no way I can wait until Feb 4 for the other 2 books to come on audible even though I prefer to listen but I need more NOWWWWWWW!

Loved this one so much.

Sins & Needles was a refreshing and different type of read for me. I've been reading a lot of contemporary romance, and this was romance, but the whole con artist theme mixed with the mafia and all that entails made for a edge of your seat type of read. Ellie Watt has been on the run for quite a while, a master con artist she pretty much has it down to an art, but unfortunately some people don't forget, especially when they are neck deep in all things bad, causing Ellie to find herself in the situation she is now in and back in her home town she hadn't seen in years. What she didn't expect was to see Camden McQueen, and boy has Camden McQueen changed from the last time they saw each other. The weird geeky guy she once knew has been replaced by a badass hot tattoo artist that is hotter than hot and also presents an opportunity that Ellie can't resist. When things go all wrong, Ellie finds herself on the wrong end of the con, and when things don't seem like they can get any worse, the past catches up to her forcing her to make a choice that might just put her in a whole word of hurt.

I loved Camden's character. He wasn't perfect, but that just made him more appealing. He also didn't put up with Ellie's crap, and challenged her, and she challenged him, which made them a great pair. The chemistry between them was off the charts, and despite the anger and hurt between them, Camden does something for Ellie that changes her perception of herself in a way she never imagined. I had a little harder time really liking Ellie, but I did end up liking her and was really glad to see her make the choices she does by the end of the book, but I also can't wait to start the next book in the series. If you are looking for something different that is filled with action, drama, danger, and steam, then Sins & Needles is something I would recommend checking out.

BOOOOOOORING!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Nah. I could have gotten more thrills from an episode of CSI... Miami. Main characters were weak. She keeps saying she is getting out of the game, at the same time she is planning a con... and there is no real explanation about why, or what she plans to do after that. She wasn't written or developed well at all, in my opinion. Somehow we're supposed to believe that a life long con-artist is worried about what people think about her, all. the. time. The hero seemed anything but that. Maybe bi-polar even. He seemed kind of like a pansy. Was not into him at all, and she just over dramatized, a lot. They both seemed weak... like the plot. And the villain. It was all together BLAH.

Would you ever listen to anything by Karina Halle again?

probably not. unless she plans to spice it up a bit.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

somewhat. she was a little slow in parts, and at times the emotion she was depicting seemed a bit off from how it was written.

Do you think Sins and Needles needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Not really, it was hard enough to get through this 1.

Any additional comments?

Not for anyone looking for anything daring, or tough.

I love the story! Its one of my favorites Karinas

You just have to listen! This is one of the best books from Karina Halle - It has it all!

The only thing that I cant do, is the Narrator. Its not that she is bad or anything, its that I don't like the way that she narrates Eli in the emotional moments, she portrays her in a light I did not like. The way I read her in the books, she is strong and resilient and is not a sniveling valley girl, which she kinda sounds like in the emotional moments. But over all she did a great job with narrotatring.

I am tired of trilogies....

This was an ok listen for me, it left me wanting to continue on and see what happens but I am not rushing to download the rest of the series, I have much better in my wish list, which is large! The story is not one that I have heard before and the characters are likable enough, I will hope the rest of the series will go on sale one day! The narrator was ok, one of those that kind of grow on you by mid listen.

Gritty...Raw...Intense...Amazing!

Where does Sins and Needles rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Pretty close to the top - I loved the story when I read it and Veronica does a great job.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ellie....it's her story and she rocks. She's flawed but so dry and I loved her, imperfections and all.

Have you listened to any of Veronica Den’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Never heard her before - but she did a great job, I liked her as Ellie, it fit.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Wanted to - yes, of course.

Any additional comments?

I love this series period so being able to experience the first book all over again was...just what I needed.
