Lady Elizabeth, the youngest and most headstrong of the three Banning sisters, has been engaged three times, and has most scandalously broken off all three engagements. Her fear of becoming any man’s property has kept her from marriage and earned her a reputation in the town as a heartbreaking flirt.
Neil Severin is a wicked rogue, black of heart and black of reputation. A man of no morals, devoid of compassion, he is a government-sanctioned assassin. And his newest target is a man Beth holds dear. When the flame-haired beauty thwarts his plan, Neil exacts his own brand of spicy revenge.
Beth despises him. Neil doesn’t care. But circumstances most unexpectedly throw them together, and with Beth’s life in danger, Neil finds himself in the unexpected role of hero, racing to save her before it’s too late.
What he never expects is the twist fate hands him: instead of his saving her, Beth winds up saving him. In a fight for their lives, Neil and Beth travel the British countryside, fleeing the ruthless killers out for Neil’s blood, the men after Beth, and their growing attraction to each other. Can Neil forgive himself for his past and accept Beth’s love? Can Beth overcome her fear and trust Neil? Will she have to choose between him and her family? And most important, can they both survive long enough to begin a new life together?

"Robards's robust narrative maintains the couple's intense passion even up to its sweet resolution, making this a satisfying read for any fan of the genre." (Publishers Weekly)
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Final book in the trilogy and, in my opinion, the best but it leaves me wishing there were more sisters or even a brother. I know that's just being greedy but if, like me, you're into this genre, then this series has been one of the best.
The magic synergy between a good author, great book and a talented narrator all come together in this f...f...f... all right I'll say it FINAL book in the Banning Sisters story.
Now KR what's next for us ? Maybe the Banning Brothers or the Banning Cousins or even the Bannings the Next Generation. Whatever it is I'm sure your fans are, like me, waiting with eager anticipation.
Worth a credit? That would be a definite YES.
I Love karen robards love stories. They are so exciting and fun to listen to keep you wanting more, and the narrator does a fine job to!
Audio-fiction ADDICT !
Karen had done it again! The book was a perfect ending to the series. The heroine Beth Banning was mesmerizing! I loved the suspense and the turn of events. Although I have to admit that my best book of the series is book 2 " Irresistible" . But I loved the 3 sisters. A must read. Rosalyn Landor, again thank you for such a perfect performance.
This story moves right along and there is a bit of humor. The characters are likable and none of the main female characters are whmpy. I could have listened to it straight though.
Sure! I'd do some research first though.
I don't really know how to change it, but some how the story didn't flow nicely. Maybe it was the constant switching of point of view. Also, I would have liked to see more background on the hero. We know most of the heroine's history but we don't find out about the hero until the very end, and then only briefly.
I thought the performance was fine. Not awesome, not bad.
Probably if more story was added. The plot was a little shallow.
Over all, it was an ok listen.
The reading ruins this book. I have tried several times to listen and the break neck fast speed doesn't permit one to "get into" the story. Although the reader has a lovely base voice, she unfortunately moves between monotone and sing song and always as if there is a race against time to get as much said as quickly as possible. I usually like the author but the reading has made this choice a complete waste of a credit.
