Publisher's summary

From number-one New York Times best-selling author Nora Roberts comes a trilogy about the land we’re drawn to, the family we learn to cherish, and the people we long to love.…

With the legends and lore of Ireland running through his blood, falconer Connor O’Dwyer is proud to call County Mayo home. It’s where his sister, Branna, lives and works, where his cousin, Iona, has found true love, and where his childhood friends form a circle that can’t be broken.…

A circle that is about to be stretched out of shape - by a long-awaited kiss.

Meara Quinn is Branna’s best friend, a sister in all but blood. Her and Connor’s paths cross almost daily, as Connor takes tourists on hawk walks and Meara guides them on horseback across the lush countryside. She has the eyes of a gypsy and the body of a goddess…things Connor has always taken for granted - until his brush with death propels them into a quick, hot tangle.

Plenty of women have found their way to Connor’s bed, but none to his heart until now. Frustratingly, Meara is okay with just the heat, afraid to lose herself - and their friendship - to something more. But soon, Connor will see the full force and fury of what runs in his blood. And he will need his family and friends around him when his past rolls in like the fog, threatening an end to all he loves.…

shadow spell

I have read this series several times, but the narration to the second book shadow spell, the narration is horrible. you should have gotten the woman to the first story, have this guy too work with her. she could do the ladies and he could do the men.

Great Story

Enjoyed the story but preferred narrator of book 1 and for narrator to stay the same for all 3 books

Narrator bring down the whole score..

Note especially for volume 2: Before someone hires this man again, can you make sure that he didn't go to the William .... Shatner .... school..... of acting! His pace and timing is horrible!!! Perhaps some retraining in breath control would help.
The only thing worse than how he mames all of the accents, Irish and American is the way he makes all the women sound weak and whiney.

I waited until I read all 3 books before doing a review. I really enjoyed these works and the way they melded the old with the new, both in terms of story and magic. Nothing way over the top or unbelievable, just the ways of nature and the power of the elements. There were times when the voices of the different women seemed to be almost the same voice. The one who came from America, her accent seemed to vary from time to time, like they couldn't decide what her accent should be. Women seem to be able to do male voices better than men do females.
I know that there is a limited budget for doing these books, but when you have this many characters, there should be at least one male and one female doing the readings.
The story is delightful and kept me enthralled the whole time. The struggles of power and seduction, of pride and redemption, of trust lost and misunderstanding, of what we think good and evil are is masterfully told by Nora Roberts. I've not always been a big fan of hers. It was the subject matter that made me try the first book. It was her skillful telling of the tale that made me finish the trilogy.

Fun story

I love the magic spells, romance, animals, and family bound.
I prefer a women’s narrator.

Majick by generation

Pooper narration took from the story. Choppy narration looses you. Good story but the flow was hard to stay connected

Captivating story

Great story continuation of the Dark Witch. However, the narrator displayed very little difference in character voices. He did express excitement during action passages,

Great story, Horrible narration

The narration is horrible! While his voice is great, his narration is incredibly disfluent! The odd cadences, pausings, and changes in speeds make this difficult to enjoy.
