OMG....LOVE THIS BOOK.

I LOVE THIS BOOK, it was sooooo sweeettt. If love could always be that pure and true. Shadow and Beauty was meant for each other.

Wonderful story!

Beauty is a New Species “gift”, rescued by the task force from her owner. She isn’t, however, your typical gift NS. She resents being classified as a gift and hates the overprotective attitudes towards her. She loves to read romances and wishes for the ability to get to know a male the way regular NS do.
After a bad dream, she ends up outside in a thunderstorm. Shadow is a NS patrolling Homeland and he sees a small figure running through the rain. Thinking it’s an intruder, he tackles her and is shocked to see it’s a gift female. This begins the romance of Beauty and Shadow- slowly getting to learn one another, until Beauty’s former Master decides he wants her back. Narration was well done!

Definitely one of my favorites in the series!

I fell in love with this series all over again with Shadow. I think this may be the final one in the New Species series but I wish it wasn't. This is definitely a credit worthy series. Shadow's and Beauty's love story is so sweet and endearing my heart was bursting at every chapter. Also this one had a good balance of romance, action and of course humor...I love the misinterpretations the New Species have. I'd love another New Species story, but if I can't get that, anything from Laurann Dohner will do, she's a great author of this genre and Vanessa Chambers is a narrator I'll seek out for sure!

Can I have a new Species, Please!!

Great series. I have really enjoyed this series. I was looking for a new series to start and saw these were coming out so I decided to try book one. From reading the summary the series reminded me of Lora Leigh's Breed series. Now the premise is similar but they both have a different style.

All the books in this series were great. Smokin Hot love scenes, some action and some tear jerker moments.

You can't go wrong with this series. Start with book one because you still get to see a lot the characters come back in each book.

Shadow and Beauty

Shadow had been a victim of brutally degrading abuse at the hands of the Mercer sadist. When he was freed, he became a loyal and fierce protector of his fellow species and their liberated Nation. Believing they were under a sneak attack, he took down the would-be bomber only to find something far more devastating; Beauty. Everything changed, he changed. Instead of wanting only to seek and destroy those who'd enslaved his people he now found he wanted to just sit looking at Beauty. Once she realized she was truly free, Beauty wanted to embrace it with both hands, but 'Gift' status still kept her confined. Wanting to feel free she ran out into a storm and into the body of a huge male named Shadow. Instead of terrifying her, he made her feel safe. Shadow was everything she wanted in a mate. Tall strong handsome and fiercely protective, he gave her the strength to go after what she wanted; him. After convincing the council to allow them to have time together, 'master' tries to recover her only he underestimated how much she had grown and just how hard she would fight to remain free in Shadows arms.

I loved that a gifted one gets a chance to find love. This is one book in the series that does not disappoint. Beauty show that although she is small, she is species. I enjoy reading this series and enjoy seeing other characters being present. Especially Breeze. Enjoy and give this book a try. Beauty has to learn to assert herself and gain her independence to go after what she wants.

A good read

What did you love best about Shadow?

Overall, I like the series. I do wish there was a bit more connection between the books than the 1-3 sentences referencing other characters or their post original book life. I also wish the characters were a bit more developed, for example I have yet to read that a character ate anything that wasn't junk food - sandwiches, sodas, hotdogs . . .

Who was your favorite character and why?

Beauty, the heroine. She is honest, complex, plucky and feels whole.

What does Vanessa Chambers bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is wonderful at maintaining the character's voice tone, accent and pitch bring them to life.

Totally orginal! Species vs. Species!

I loved this book so much! Book 9 brings back Shadow, the man who was with Wrath in that secondary holding facility that Brawn got sent to. Anyway, one night while getting off shift he sees a human woman running across the park, he follows her to see what the human has done, after all no humans should be at Homeland and if they are running it can't be good!

Beauty is the gift female rescued by Jessie North on her last mission with the task force. Beauty isn't a typical gift female though, she doesn't fear all men she is actually very interested in knowing what it would be like to have one she could call her own. One night after a terrible dream she just can't take it anymore, she's going stir crazy with all these rules for the gift females...she may have been rescued by the task force, but this is just a different type of prison. She leaves her dorm and runs like the wind just to feel alive...that is until she is tackled by a large male who thinks she is a human.

What a great story! Worth a credit or a buy, and for sure a sale!

I would definitely recommend the audiobook format- the narrator really brings the characters and the story alive with her performance!

What did you like best about this story?

Everything! I just stumbled upon this series while browsing for something interesting to listen to and took a chance on Book One: Fury. I was hooked!!! So creative! So vivid! Love It! Now I'm waiting anxiously on Moon's story (Book 10)

Which character – as performed by Vanessa Chambers – was your favorite?

Gosh...that's tough...I have enjoyed all her narrations and I don't give out that sort of compliment often. Hard to choose...I'd say it's between Justice, Tiger and Breeze!
