Beautiful, But Clean Romance

I was offered this book by the author to listen to. I was very impressed by both the story and the narrator.

This was my very first Regency Audible Book. It was a relaxing story. The story's main character Patience was a true lady - a lady of strength and resolve, which made me admire her all the more. For her to fall in love with Luca was a slow, determined process. That was my take away. I love romances that take time to develop. It was a jewel of story to see that a refined lady would fall in love with a gypsy man and that he would also feel the same for her. This story was beautiful magic!

Clean Historical

Poor Lady Patience is besieged by trial, sorrow, and horrible awful men who abuse her. This felt more gothic in the tone (and I could almost feel Radcliffe in the tone). There was several evildoers that caused hardship for the heroine and Hero. He was hurt and helpless for much of the story. The story is worth the read.
I really enjoyed the narrator. Patience’s voice sounds similar to Greer Garson in the old black and white Pride and Prejudice.

Interesting story

This story was okay, a little slow. it was clean and sweet.
I failed to enjoy the narration. I felt like I was listening to a librovox recording.

I enjoyed this story and all it’s drama. The setting was unique for me and I was continually engaged. Great narrator and story!

This is a great story I enjoyed very much. Two people from different worlds come together to help each other & maybe fall in love? I very much enjoyed Ms. Ferguson's reading of the story also.

Such an amazing story

I loved this story! I couldn’t re-listening to it. I thought that the story was all about perspectives and finding your answers in the most unexpected ways.

A Deep and Intriguing Love Story

Seeking Patience is a beautifully written, intriguing, historical romance. When the paths of Luca, a nomadic Romany in denial of his English ancestry, and Lady Patience, a recent widow trying to dodge threats from her nefarious stepson cross, fate does a double take and neither’s life will be the same again. Josie Riviera has written a fabulously engaging story of two conflicted, complex characters, and made me understand them, sympathize with them and love them. I cared what happened to Luca and Patience, though at times I wanted to take a switch to Luca, I wanted their happily ever after. The narration that brings this story to life is fantastic. You feel as if you are there playing voyeur. This one is a five star keeper!

Wonderful

Seeking Patience is a sweet and clean historical romance with a wonderful storyline and vivid characters. The book is a part of a series, but can definitely be read as a stand alone (highly recommend the series, though!). The author’s writing is so descriptive with twists that are unexpected, making for a book that’s hard to put down. The narrator gives a beautiful performance.

Charming!

This is a courageous and passionate story of a dashing, daring Romany/English Gypsy and the beautiful British woman who saves him. Luca was born in a Gypsy camp to a Romany mother and a British father. He never met his father and was told that his father ran out on him and his mother, just after the birth. Patience is recently widowed and suffered at the hands of her cruel husband. His son is holding her responsible for his death and has vowed to take her to the authorities for a murder charge. When there's a vicious attack on Luca, by his nemesis, Marco, he winds up in Patience's yard and she decides to save him. It's a lovely story of two damaged souls learning to trust one another, help one another and fall in love. The arrival of a British Lord, a very good friend of Patience, holds the key to Luca's past and his future. I truly loved this story and it would have been more than 4 stars, but the ending was too abrupt. We need just a little more time with Patience and Luca before reading THE END. An epilogue would be a perfect addition! The narration was brilliantly done by Virginia Ferguson. Her voice is one of my favorites and her beautiful accent, intonation and expression are unique.
