The second Perfect Gentlemen novel from the New York Times best-selling authors of the Masters of Ménage series.
Privileged, wealthy, and wild: They are the Perfect Gentlemen of Creighton Academy. But the threat of a scandal has one of them employing his most deceptive - and seductive - talents....
Recruited into the CIA at a young age, Connor Sparks knows how dirty the world can be. Only when he's with his friends can he find some peace. So when an anonymous journalist threatens one of the Perfect Gentlemen, Connor vows to take down the person behind the computer by whatever means necessary - even if it means posing as his target's bodyguard.
Publishing a tabloid revealing Washington's most subversive scandals has earned Lara Armstrong the ire of the political scene - and a slew of death threats. To keep herself from ending up a headline, Lara hires a bodyguard, a man as handsome as he is lethal.
When the bullets start to fly, Lara is surprised to find herself in Connor's arms. But as they begin to unravel a mystery that just might bring down the White House, Lara is devastated when she discovers Connor's true identity - and finds herself at the mercy of forces who will stop at nothing to advance their deadly agenda.

I can find a book to love in any genre -- a beautifully written classic, an interesting mystery or sci-fi, a trashy romance. Bring it!
STORY (erotica) - The Perfect Gentlemen series has been my introduction to the genre of erotica, and I checked it out more for curiosity's sake than anything else. Yes, it's erotic, but what I like best about this series is the story that runs behind the romances. The PGs are all highly successful men in Washington, including United States President Zack Hayes. There are mysterious deaths, threats, etc., which all seem to revolve around Zack and an elusive Russian woman who served as his childhood nanny.
The romance in this book involves Connor, a lethal CIA agent who lives in the shadows and does the nation's dirty work to keep us all safe. And then there's Lara, who drove me crazy. She is a Bohemian goody-goody who runs a website called Capitol Scandals in Washington. If there had been a different female lead in this story, I would have rated it five stars like I did Book 1. (Seriously, trying to make her dog a vegetarian?????) At any rate, their relationship is a case of opposites attracting, then repelling, then attracting again. And of course, Connor ignites Lara into a vixen in the bedroom. Every time something dangerous happens they get turned on. Whatever.
PERFORMANCE - The dreamy voice of Kaleo Griffith makes the sheet scenes even hotter! Love him!
OVERALL - Recommended for women who enjoy romances but are not easily offended by lots of explicit sex and sexual language. I would say there's probably at least an hour of this 14-hour book that's spent in the sack. The story stands alone as far as the romance, but the mystery continues from Book 1, runs through this book, and will continue into at least Book 3. I recommend starting with Book 1 -- and you will love it. (No whiny stupid Lara, for one thing).
Civil War Nut LH
Loved this one as much as the first one. A point in its favor is that the personalities of the lead couple are different from the couple in the first book. This is no rubber stamp. You get answers to some questions from the series plot thread from book one and the thread continues. I was glad I had an extra credit so I could start book three as soon as I finished this one.
Kaleo Griffith did a good job narrating. Gives you enough vocal inflection to make the book interesting, but doesn't over-dramatize.
Great book two to The Perfect Gentleman series. It has everything that hooked me in book one plus a whole lot more. Looking forward to May 3rd for book three.
Maybe. Depends on the friend. Fairly racy in places.
The story behind the male friends is great, quite well developed and they seem like entertaining guys with lots of potential for future stories. The least interesting, most annoying character of all time is Lara. Why do these books create such wimpy, whiny, inexperienced, corny and ridiculous women?
Yes pretty well. The female impersonations a little Mrs Doubtfire-ish, and some of the Russian accents not so great, but overall ok.
Hardly. Well maybe write a book with a normal woman lead.
If you like strong, good looking men turned to mush by whiny, annoying twits, this will hit the mark.
What a fantastic story! This book has everything - romance, intrigue, humor, twists. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series to follow the suspense-filled story.
I absolutely love this series so far! I love how each book focuses on a different character but it is still all around the same scandal!! It's a must read!
Audible Addict!!! My Favorite books have change since joining Audible and my taste for erotic has enhanced! Follow me to the dark side. ;)
I love this series so much. I'm am a jumper so if I get to a part of any book that annoys me I just start listening to something else but I could not stop listening to this book. I love these dudes. I'm so excited I think I have figured a very important detail out🤔🤔🤔🤔 but it will make me so sad if it's true. BOTTOM LINE PLEASE HURRY WITH BOOK THREE BCUZ I LOVE FAT TUESDAY!!!!!
the characters were well developed and the story plot pulls you in. Add in the steamy love scenes and the jokes among the friends and you have a great read!
"Great storyline as always!"
Great storyline. Love these books and always eager for the next one to come out. One small suggestion that would make it better for me personally and that would be to have a male and female narrator. The male narrator's voice comes across as "whiney" whilst doing the female voice but as a male voice he's perfect.
"Enjoyed the ongoing story line"
Yes, liked the characters
Guessing what would happen next. Although I was hooked after the last book. Hope next book arrives on audible soon.
