Publisher's summary

Meriel Schellden knows that marrying Craig McTiernay will strengthen the ties between their clans. She insists she is motivated by duty and responsibility, nothing more. But when a mere formality becomes a far from platonic kiss, Meriel must question where her true intentions lie. Though Meriel entices him far more than she realizes, Craig's commitments have always kept his passions restrained. But no sense of duty to his clan can make Craig forget the way Meriel's touch left him teased, tantalized, and desperate for more. Now, as a surprising rival contends for Meriel's affections, there has never been a better time to listen to what his heart has desired all along.

Planning a trap

Any additional comments?

This book is not fill with fighting, killing or riding into a battle what it is about is when the characters are trying to get the one they love. It let you see into the personality of the characters that you got to know in the previous books. Some of it is humorous. This book just gives you a slight view into the lives of the three children of Connor and his wife also the last of the twin fighting love and marriage. If you are looking for fighting, killing or battles this is not your book but if you want a book that has you looking into relationships and diving more into the personalities of the characters then you will enjoy the book. I have enjoyed this book for I did not have to worry about a child, animal or friend of a character die, got rape or mistreated. This was a book to listen and enjoy.

Future McTiernay books

I can't wait for the next two books; Conan's story and Clyde's story. I wonder when we can expect them?

A Good Test of Real Love

This book was a little slow, but since I listened to all the preceding books, I didn't want to miss out on what would happen to Meriel and Craig. The body of the book is no mystery, "get the man by making him jealous." However, the rest of the book is interesting because it shows what can happen after marriage.

Oh My, These McTiernay Brothers!

Another good story. I adore these McTiernay brothers. They're mighty and strong and sexy but mostly I love how they fall for their women. Such a romantic story written well and narrated well.

Kind of dumb and painful

The first half of this book focused on a "plot" to get the two main characters together through manipulation. The second half centered on how messy they were which made it difficult to get along. There were some boring intimate encounters thrown that I had to just fast forward through after the first. There were so many brothers, sisters, and other characters that it was very confusing at the beginning to even figure out who the story was supposed to about. The only reason I didn't give it 1 star is because I actually managed to listen to the whole thing.

Was hard to listen to

I don't like Anne Flosnik's narrations. This book was weak compared to others by Michele Sinclair. Was just ok.

boring

What would have made Seducing the Highlander better?

Drama, danger, intrigue, or even a few surprises

What was most disappointing about Michele Sinclair’s story?

there was nothing interesting about this story, I knew the ending from the beginning which would have been alright if it was exciting to get there

How did the narrator detract from the book?

the narrator was the only good things she was great

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Seducing the Highlander?

I would have added some highlander excitement

Any additional comments?

this was a story about two people struggling with their before and after marriage relationship, it was boring. there was no danger, surprises, or even sword play, unless you call sharpening a sword, sword play. it's not fit to be called a highlander novel. don't waste your time or credit on this one.

Love the story.....can't abide the narrator

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The narrator sounded like she had a speech impediment and her tone was monotonous for approximately 60% of the book. She didn't liven up until near the end. It made the listening unbearable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The leading lady was definitely my favorite character.

How could the performance have been better?

I did not enjoy the narrator AT ALL.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I thought that the story was awesome. The characters had a lot of charm and wit. I will probably try to purchase the book and read it. I just didn't enjoy the audiobook because of the narrator.

Slightly Better than the Last

The spec is slightly better than the previous book in the series. There at least is a romance to it. But once the couple gets together, it's all about real life arguments. Not keeping the house, clean enough, not cooking, dinner, bringing in your dirty work items. I'm reading a historical romance, I don't want who's going to cook dinner arguments.

Boring

Long drawn out plot that could have been included in 2 chapters of the previous book in the series.
