I read so I can write
I always expect great things from Kleypas and this series does not disappoint. The characters are strong and entertaining and their interaction with each other builds a good story. I don't agree with other reviewers who did not like Kev. Considering his background he is believable. For him to move from point A to point B would have been difficult and how he did so made sense.
I look forward to continuing this series.
Ms Landor is one of my favorite narrators.
Kev is not my favorite hero, and this was a rather frustrating book.
The next three books of this series are amazing. So keep reading!!! :)
This is definitely one of the sweetest romance novels you'll encounter because the deep love that resonates between Win & Kev isn't based on lust, but an innocent love they built during childhood. It's very easy to cheer for these two lead characters. Win has to do the impossible because not only does she have to convince Kev that her childhood illness is in the past, but she also has to convince him that despite differences in background, he is worthy of her love. But, what makes this story (& the whole series) absolutely delightful is the nontraditional Hathaway family. This loving & hilarious family don't care what society thinks of them. More importantly, they will do anything to keep each other safe and happy.
As usual, Rosalyn Landon does an excellent job as narrator.
I just Love the Allure of a Great Romance...a Pair of Rose Colored Glasses...some Fine Wine, and a Subscription to Audible...
Seduce Me at Sunrise is the second book in the Hathoway's series, and it is a book you will not want to put down. I would definitely recommend it to any of my adult friends.
Lisa has a gift for developing very likable characters, that as a reader, you begin to invest your time in getting to know. I love this family of misfits! They are precious, and funny, and loyal. They love each other as a family should, with "warts and all".
You will definitely want to begin with the first book in the series, "Mine Till Midnight", where you will first be introduced to the Hawthorn family, and learn the story of Amelia, the oldest Hawthorn sister and Cam, a wonderfully exotic man who is half gypsy, and half Irish. Their story will capture your attention, and lead you to Seduce Me at Sunrise, where we learn about Winn, Hawthorn sister #2, and Kev. I just downloaded the third book in the series and plan to begin tonight.
Rosalyn Landor is always an amazing performer. I have downloaded several books (including those by Lisa Kleypas) based on the fact that Rosalyn would be the reader. Her voices are amazing and realistic. I have enjoyed each book I have downloaded where she read.
This series of books will provide a full well-rounded experience of emotions. The reader is immediately captivated by the clearity of the descriptions, whether it be a character or setting, and with each word, the books are more difficult to put down.
DOWNLOAD THIS BOOK...DEFINITELY WORTH THE CREDIT!
The characters were well developed
The ending, it was very romantic
She's a great performer. She develops them all and you feel like you are there as things happen, but if I had to pick I would say Rohan is my favorite in all five books in the series
It evoked both emotions in me depending on the part of the story
You must read them all and the order does not matter.
Say something about yourself!
I started to skip this book because of the review I read. I would have missed an important part of the Hathaway story as well the times I laughed out loud. This book is an intergral part to the Hathaway series not just a
Finding the family they had searched for in Noah.
How do you pick a favorite from an ensemble cast?
I held my breath when Cam's life was threatened.
I love books in series and this is one of the best to me because the characters are involved in each book, not just mentioned as in some series. It didn't distract from the main characters but enhanced them. I was also delighted that the Wallflowers flowed into the Hathaways series.
I enjoyed the first Hathaway book enough to look for the second. Unfortunately I found it a bit tedious. The best parts were with Amelia and Rowan from book one. The Kev and Win story just seems contrived with roadblocks of their own making. I finished the book, but only because I paid for it.
Considering that Lisa Kleypas is one of my favorite authors this one was disappointing to me. I wasn't crazy about the gypsy sub-plot and found the male protaganist to be surly and unattractive. My disappointment in this one will not discourage me from buying other selection by this author.
I know I must be among the minority but I could not finish this book ! That's a rarity for a LK book . Merripen seems just stupid and stuborn , I couldn't get the chemistry between Win and him. They seemed estranged for most of the book. The beginning of the book was sweet and touching but goes downhill from then on.There is too much interference from the rest of the family . I swear literally everyone in the family has had a one on one intervention session with Merripen ! Also the story seems contrived .There is some wierd sexual banter between Marx and Leo while Cam is literally on his death bed .
Leo and Marx's story is the most entertaining of this story followed by that of Beatrice and Poppy.
Sorry this was a letdown but won't stop me from reading more LK.
