Publisher's Summary

First in a sizzling new series from Jennifer Probst, the USA Today best-selling author adored for her "fresh, fun, and sexy" (Romancing the Book) storytelling!

In charming Verily, New York, Kate Seymour has a smashing success with Kinnections, the matchmaking service she owns with her two best girlfriends. But Kate's more than a savvy businesswoman: She's gifted with a secret power, a jolting touch that signals when love's magic is at work. It rocked her when she picked up a strange volume of love spells in the town's used bookstore...and it zapped her again when she encountered Slade Montgomery, the hot-tempered - and hot-bodied - divorce lawyer who storms into Kinnections demanding proof that playing Cupid won't destroy his vulnerable sister, Kate's newest client. The only way to convince this cynic that she's no fraud, and that love is no mirage, is for Kate to meet his audacious challenge: find him his dream woman. Can Kate keep their relationship strictly business when her electrifying attraction nearly knocked her off her feet? Or has the matchmaker finally met her match?

    "Blah!"

I totally loved J.P's marriage bargain series...this was a poor attempt at something like that... I stopped at chapter 7 because I was bored. There were a few funny moments but...it just didn't hold my interest like her other series did...

    Awesome narration though....

Maybe a sale book if more people review that makes it past chapter 10.....

"Half Way Through - I Quit"
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Searching for Someday?

It wasn't the scenes, so much as the overall arrogance and negativity of the "hero"...it went on for way to long into the book, with no hint it was going to change.

    Any additional comments?

I really tried to like this book, but the "hero" was so unlikable, I finally threw in the towel and removed it from my android. I didn't even skip ahead to see how it ended!

    "Completely disappointed by Jennifer"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This book is nothing like Jennifer's earlier books. It lacks believability, strong character connection, suspense, story... So disappointed. Each new book becomes progressively worst. I do think she is a good writer, but will not buy another book unless she proves she spent a good deal of time and energy into it.

I ignore genre labels. Some of my favorite books are outside my genre comfort zone. Listening to audiobooks is still reading. Not theater.

    "Cute"

I enjoyed Probst's earlier series. After reading them I expected to have to suspend reality in order to accept the plot line of this book, and I did. It is pretty close to totally implausible. But, this book was light and fluffy. And sometimes fun. Probst has talent and I think she has wasted it so far, but she has enough talent that I will read the fluff she creates.

Again, Maby/Grant is one of my favorite narrators. I always look forward to listening to books she narrates.

I've been an avid reader since I was a child. I love different types of writing styles and I am never afraid to try new authors.

    "Definately Surprised"

I have a love/hate relationship with this author; I either love her stories or hate them so I was nervous to take a chance on this book. While I wasn't on the edge of my seat I did enjoy the book and the characters. I enjoyed the flow of the book and I didn't feel as though the story got stuck or was filler.

This series is great, love that the characters continue to develop as you read the series. They are all entwined throughout the storylines.

    "Unbelievably bad"

The premise was promising but turned out to be formulaic, full of stupid drama, boring repetitive fluff. The characters we horrible! The hero was an arrogant, demanding, disrespectful, sexist pig yet the heroine let him order her around and she responded to his raunchy, degrading treatment, "Lay down and spread your legs so I can see you and taste you....and now I'm going to f**k you". He practically raped her (in her virginal state) and she loved it...??!! What kind of message does this send? This kind of treatment in real life would be abuse. I'm disgusted that anyone would give this 5 stars when it's so disrespectful of women. I'll never buy another book by Jennifer Probst.

    "Searching for the positive"

As much as I thought this book was absolutely downright awful, I'm trying to find the positives. I feel we all hate those reviews that drone on and on about personal dislikes of a book that jade/infect our opinions so I will try to refrain.

This book was just not my personal preference of books. I have listened to many similar books that have the constant back and forth that this book has and found no issues with it. This book however seemed to overdo it for me. I felt as if 78% of the "getting together and splitting up" storyline could have been eradicated. Other than that it was a cute lighthearted story that was enjoyable for the most part.

I'm a big advocate of trying a book for myself regardless of reviews, since everyone's book tastes are different, so by all means try this one out for yourself. However in this listeners opinion I wish I wouldn't have wasted a credit/$ on this one.
