Romance novelist Clarice Adler has lost the inspiration to write ever since dumping her cheating boyfriend. How do you dream up a plot of two people falling in love when you've stopped believing in love yourself? But her deadline is looming, and her career hangs in the balance, so she decides to lock herself away on the secluded Scottish Isle of Skye to finish her manuscript. Upon meeting Derek McMillan there, it seems she's found her new muse, and the words start to flow out of her as if by magic. Clarice falls for him hard, despite knowing nothing about the man except that he's unavailable.
Derek McMillan has been managing his farm and renting out a few holiday cottages on his own for years now. He deals with the occasional tourist for some extra money but mostly keeps to himself. When he first lays eyes on the curvy beauty, Clarice, he immediately regrets accepting her booking. Lightning strikes, and as much as he tries to deny it, his inner bear knows that she's his mate. But he's a shifter, and she's a human, and the two can't ever mix, can they?
In this steamy paranormal romance novella, follow along as an impossible love blossoms between two people who couldn't be more different. One might say fate intended for them to meet, if you believe in that sort of thing, but they're both set on fighting their attraction with everything they've got. They're going to need another push to admit to themselves as well as each other what's going on....

.......sorry couldn't resist.
Overall, this was a decent story and I enjoyed listening it; however, it does start off slowly.
While this is a short story, it's a complete story about Derek and Clarice but ends on a cliffhanger which is setting up for the next book in the series. I think this series would great if all three stories could be combined into audiobook
I thought Patrick did a great job narrating the story and loved his voice. Personally, if it is a romance story, I much rather hear a guy's sexy voice than a girls voice! ;-)

This was given to me in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobook boom. This was a good story. I liked the way the bears kept to themselves. When the author went to the island in order to finish her book she was inspired by the bear to change the whole story and it turned out better. The borthers were the last of their family and did not have much knowledge about their heritage. He was not sure why his bear had chosen a human as his mate but it did. I liked the way he protected her and the final ceremony was very sweet.
I am addicted to audiobooks. It makes my 1 hour (each way) commute go by without me becoming an agressive driver. lol
I received this audio book free in return for an unbiased review. I thought this book tried to cram too much in such a short story. I love short stories, but this one seemed a little disjointed and rushed. Kind of like some parts were left out. Clarice and Derek hadn't hardly talked before they fell in love. I know, love at first sight, but this one seemed a little disjointed. Then the Werebear was thrown into it kind of out of the blue. I may have to listen to more books by Lorelei to make a final decision on this one. Not really a fan of this short story.
Hmmm. I'm having a hard time with this review. Normally, I know exactly what I liked and didn't like for the books I read and listen too. But I'm kind of stuck here.
- Narration. I wasn't expecting a man to narrate the whole book. This is probably common, but I've never listened to an audio where this is the case. I'm much more use to a female reading both POVs. Don't get me wrong, the narrator does a very good job, but I didn't love it.
-Pacing. This book was a quick and short listen. It was a little over two hours, so the story moved fast. I liked the pacing, and even though I would have loved to spend more time on the relationship building.
- Plot. I don't think the plot was very exciting. And I don't think the book was overly exciting and I really kind of felt indifferent to it the whole time.

Yes I would . I read the book prior to ever listening to the audible for this and loved it. If you love shifter books with a bit of spice this is a great story.
I really can't say I can compare. I have read shifter stories but not many with bears yet.
This narrator was fantastic. He spoke clearly and brought this story to life.
I found myself laughing a lot in this book. I mean come on how many people out here wake to see two bears in the bedroom?
This is a wonderful story and I do recommend it if you love paranormal with spice.
I enjoyed the book. It was a bit slow going to sstart but well developed. Characters were interesting and plot grew slowly. Just when you might expect to get more of the love story, though, it abruptly ends with one of the main characters taking off on some mysterious journey to help his brother, leaving his bride at home. Perhaps it was the fact I was listening, rather than reading myself, but I did not feel very close to the characters. The ending felt abrupt.
This was actually quite interesting. I liked that there was some intrigue throughout the story, and I'm eager to find out where Derek's brother fits in.
A reviewer at Guilty Indulgence Review Site. I don't go anywhere without a book -ebook or audiobook.
This story was a quick and easy listen. But it felt entirely too predictable... maybe ive just read too many shifter romances. Im on the hunt for more original plots and this didnt fit the bill. Also found the narrator choice odd.
"A sweet short paranormal romance"
Overall I enjoyed this story though it isn't the best I've ever heard. It is light and sweet with all the feel good escapism one would hope for. Plus the story ends with a little teaser for what will come next. And I enjoyed it enough to consider buying the next audiobook in the series.
