“A multilayered heroine and a sizzling-hot hero give readers plenty of emotional—and physical—action, and the relentless game of hunter and prey adds an adrenaline ride for good measure.” (Booklist)

Very intense and interesting I could not wait to read the next page. I was very happily surprised by this book.. I can't wait to read the next book.
Avid reader/listener of romance, action, thrillers, and spy novels.
The narrator wasn't as good as the others I"ve listened to and I give them a lot of room, as a studderer who hates public speaking. So, he was ok, but I probably should read the book. It sounded great from the parts that I paid attention to
I liked how Ann came out of her shell when confronted by Josha (Not a typo) and his family. It's nice to see her morph into a strong woman.
Probably not. I'm really picky and they have to live up to Holter Graham, Ray Porter, and Luke Daniels.
Duck when the Russian wolves attack.
Tthe narrator is not right for these books should have used Robert Petkoff. The male voice doesn't fit the character, his voice should be much more sexy.
Same kind of story line for most fantasy romance. I like the fact that it had good sex scenes that didn't go on forever and the story has a good plot.
I've listened to him before but for these books he's not the right choice.
The way this book ends it feels like it was two books cut in half. I think sometimes they do that to make more off the sales, instead of one long book like Diana Gabaldon's the book is separated and it doesn't make sense in the ending. This series would do better if they sold the books in bundles, then people might ignore the bad narration and spend a credit for the story. All in All I like the story line so far. This is the first Christina Dodd books I've listened to and I'd like to finish the series but I'm having a hard spending the credit.
The series has potential, so I will give the second book a chance.
The ending was a big disappointment! I thought I skipped a chapter or something because it just left you hanging. I would've liked more of a conclusion.
It was good. It's just that I found the characters a bit quirky. Not quirky in a good way, quirky in the unbelievable kind of way. The storyline is good in principle but not executed well. It read choppy. But not because of the performance. The perfomance was good. The story was a bit lacking.

I am always wary when audible offers books for $4.95...I figure it must be the really bad ones, but the description SOUNDED good, so I figured it was worth a shot....I am so NOT disappointed!
Not since I started reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood have I fallen in love with a series so quickly! I immediately had to download the second book, and thankfully there are 4 total available.
The story is complicated, but simple. A thousand year old family pact with the devil allowed a curse/blessing which enables the men of one family to change into predatory animals at will. They heal fast, they run hard, they have sharp instincts, and they are total alpha male babes. The downside is the father of this group broke away from the rest of his family in Russia, which no family member had done before…he married the mother of his children…he had sons AND a girl…none of this has ever happened before! This break from tradition has weakened the deal with the devil, and when the devil isn’t happy, “ain’t nobody” happy! So, the family in Russia needs to seek out the traitor family and destroy them to keep the pact intact.
The love scenes were hot, but actually needed for the plot and not just gratuitous scenes thrown in to entice…and I finally found a book where it really was plausible that the heroin of the story would be a virgin. All in all it is a wonderful world, and I can’t wait to listen to all of these wonderful books.
Side comment on the narrator…gesh, where to begin? To sum it up he was just bad! You have a suave wine vineyard owner who is suppose to be hotter than the sun and the narrator made him sound like an evil magician, I kept waiting for him to say “Muahahahahahah!”…not really pleasing to listen to when you are listening to a hot love scene. The voice chosen for the heroin was also horrible…I pictured a gum chewing street walker in the middle of New York City complete with accent…not the virginal, efficient Ms. Smith! Overall, thumbs WAY down for the narrator.
I really enjoyed the story. Ann is not as strong as I thought she would be but she grew into her strength. Considering all she was hit with at once I suppose it would take her a bit. The premise of the story is good and it is fast moving, which I enjoy. I will definitely be downloading the rest of the series!
The narrator is okay. I've listened to other audio books before with him, and didn't mind. For some reason he didn't grip me with the passion that should have been there.. and Ann what a waste of a female lead. For a woman that's shy and lonesome all her life to deciding she's going to seduce her boss cause she's been in love with him for years. Then after being shocked she's not sure but she'll go along with the seduction cause she is so in love, to she won't even give him a chance.. The constant back and forth of this deep love to he's never gonna get it dragged this book out WAY too long.
This was my first Christina Dodd and it will be my last. Just not to my liking. There really wasn't anything to creat a "I' can't stop listening" story and that's being generous. If you are looking for Rachel Morgan or Sookie Stackhouse, this is not it.
