Kelsey knows that the only way to avert their doom is to allow herself to be sold at auction. Resigned to becoming the plaything of a well-heeled gentleman, she gets more than she bargained for.

Lord Derek Malory is the highest bidder - a dashing rakehell from a family of charming London rogues. Enthralled by the lovely young woman with shining eyes and dark hair, he purchases her to be his mistress, unaware of the true worth of his prize. He never imagined that this woman he so frivolously acquired would be blessed with all the attributes he was looking for in a wife - grace, wit, intelligence, as well as beauty. He certainly never expected to fall in love.

    "Something Different"

I read/listened to all of the Mallory books. I have to say that this one is a bit darker than the others. Unlike the other stories where the heroine is rescued, this time she is taken by a truly sick and demented person. If it weren't a Lindsey novel, I would wonder if she was going to make it out alive.

The reader is also different which takes some getting used to. He is not bad, just different.

    "Excellent book"

I read the Malory novels out of order so I read this book last. I love the series and this one was definitely not a disappointment! Derek is as loveable as all of her other male characters. I loved listening to the way he obviously adored Kelsey. The narrator really bothered me though. He made all the men sound ridiculous, especially Anthony and James, and he made Rosilyn sound like Mother Goose. Still loved the book though.

"Horrible Narrator...ruined the book for me"

I've listened to most of the Mallory books and while the regular narrator has annoying habits that had begun to grate on my nerves, I'm very disappointed in the narrator of this book. His voice in regular reading mode is pleasant, but his voices are horrible. All of the men sound so haughty and dispassionate I can't seem to even like Derek. The other Mallory family voices are just as snooty sounding...I don't even like James and Anthony in this book and they are my favorite Mallorys. Pity I think I would have liked the book with Laural Merlington as the narrator and I had just written a review about how annoying I was beginning to find Merlington and wished for a different narrator. Be careful what you wish for...

    "Just OK"

This book really didn't do anything for me. The characters are kind of bland, and the idle lifestyle and snobbery portrayed by the Mallory family in this story was a bit annoying. I've read other books in this series (such as Jeremy's story in "A Loving Scoundrel") that were much more enjoyable.

    "a farce"

An unbelievable regency romp. If you're a romance writer you should stick to that genre. The "crime' was unbelievable and the evil caricatures of the bad guys were ludicrous.

As described by others, the narrator has a pleasant speaking voice but when it came to his characters, it was abysmal. The men all sounded like buffoons and as for the women, I kept hearing the Little Britain boys saying "I'm a lady! That's what I am, a lady!"

I liked the story but the narrator made the characters sound like cartoons. Rather hard to listen to.

    "total unbelievable story, bizarre narration"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

a different plot and a less over the top narrator!
The premise is already wild, so I was expecting something less than realisitic, but the completely inexplicable and unneccessary piracy backstory and the ginormous cast of secondary characters that neither served a function nor were distinguishable from each other was ... bad.
Also the ending was far too deus ex machina and thus felt unearned.

Has Say You Love Me turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes. Certainly books by this author and narrator. Give me some Georgette Heyer instead!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Michael Page?

Rosalyn Landor, except I think she would be wasted on this!

What character would you cut from Say You Love Me?

All the unneccessary uncles and cousins that lead to the endless discussions of somehow totally socially acceptable piracy!

    Any additional comments?

    Not recommended.

    "thrilling!"
Where does Say You Love Me rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I don't agree with the bad reviews. I love the evil character along the lines of the "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo " villan and having an Egor-like side kick as Dr. Frankenstein would employ. Although the evil doings were softened up a bit and not so horrific but bad enough. I had to to listen to this book until the end. As I was not familiar with this series, I read this one first and realized there were more. I then started at the top and got to know the other characters.

""You'll Love to Say You Love Me""
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Of course! I recommend audiobooks all of the time. I'm a relative newbie to the romance and erotic genre however, this book was fun because of all of the characters and the smart twist at the end.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I suppose I favor the male characters like Lord Malory. He's kind hearted and passionate and really is surprised when he falls in love.

What does Michael Page bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Audiobooks are so very entertaining. It's almost like watching a play but your imagination can still be active when it comes to the characters and what they would look like. Audiobooks are the best ever!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The highest bidder becomes the best lover.

    "definately different but well done!"

Regency romantic mystery at its finest.
I loved this tale. I found the strength of the heroine respectable, the kind intent of the hero eventually heartwarming, and the twisting turning and weaving of the plot quite compelling. Yes, verrrry good book.
    Well worth a credit!!!

    "Wonderfully written"

Beautifully read and well worth the price paid. A story of intimacy and trust, only received on the path to ruin for a young woman who tries to do the best for her family and younger sister through selling herself in a house of Eros. The passion and love that flare through a series of her (well meant) lies, and a jealous lord that is determined to have her for himself in any twisted way he can, show through the story in passion, lust and friendships that determine where and with who Kelsie finally ends up. Brilliant.
