Not for the faint of heart

I read a review on this book before purchasing it. One person mentioned that it's X rated just within a few minutes. Yes, this book is not for the faint of heart, it does have heated love scenes. That warning given, it also has an amazing storyline. This should be listened to as part of the entire series in order to be fully appreciated. Each novel builds on the story behind it and they work well together. If steamy sex scenes bother you, I don't recommend this book. Try Nora Roberts or Janet Evonovich. For those of you that like heat in a story, I highly recommend the entire series!

GOOD ACTION PACKED, SEXY STORY

Alani has been in love with Jackson for a long time. This is why when Jackson awakes beside her in bed the next morning and can not remember that they just had hot, steamy sex, Alani is heart broken and mad. Fortunately for Jackson, he had a good reason for not remembering. Someone has erased Jackson's memory. Dare, Trace, Alani and Jackson are on the case.

Savor the Danger is the third book in The Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series. I only found this out once I had started listening. Though author, Lori Foster says you can read these books as stand alone novels, which you can, you will probably want to read all these books starting with When You Dare then Trace of Fever. All the men in this series are sexy and yummy.

Alani and Jackson are smoking hot together. You could tell that they had sexual chemistry. They could not keep their hands off each other. Some times I think that this can get to be a little over board but in this story it worked. It was funny though that Trace, Alani's brother and Dare were so protective of Alani. It was more about the way that Trace and Dare acted. Like they were some big, tough guys and they were fighting for Alani's honor. Alani did not need protecting and besides Jackson could take both Dare and Trace. Dare and Trace were more for show than anything as they would not like to admit it but they were happy for Alani and Jackson. While, I did like this book, I did find at times that it did move slowly as Dare, Trace, Alani and Jackson tried to track down the culprit behind Jackson's memory loss.

Love this series!!

I read the first book, When you Dare. It was the first I had heard of Lori Foster, now I listen to everything she writes, but especially like the "Men who walk the edge of honor" series. Possibly my favorite so far!

Not what I thought...

Would you try another book from Lori Foster and/or Jim Frangione?

I love Jim Frangione but this book did not capture my interest. It was so boring. Maybe I just didn't get it because it is a part of a series of books, but upon hearing this one I have no desire to get the others. I will consider other books (not in this series) by Lori Foster if reviews from listeners that I follow highly recommend it.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I did enjoy Arizona. She was an interesting character. My interest did get roused at the end. Too bad the whole book was so lacking. I want to be involved in the story all through the book and this one was far from that for me.

Any additional comments?

I wouldn't want this one even if it was on sale.

Wrong Rating

This is not a romance. It is a weak story vehicle for downright erotica. The narrator, one of the best, is even a disappointment and it might be because he was struggling to get through it as hard as anyone with good taste would.

I will not be buying another book by this author and will seek a refund on this one.

I'm in love with Jackson - Mr Perfect

Any additional comments?

I have loved all the books in this series But this is my favourite book so far. Not only is the book supper Hot (lot's of sex and sexual tension) it is quite funny as well. Jackson has a great sense of humor and i found myself giggling quite often. Jim Frangione delivered the story perfectly as always, his voice Mmm, So Good. I have already bought the next in the series and i'm looking forward to Spencer and Arizona's story. :)

Not as good as I'd hoped it would be

Would you try another book from Lori Foster and/or Jim Frangione?

I usually like Lori Foster books. Unfortunately I didn't like this one very much. It sounded like an interesting scenario, but the hero is too cocky (literally) and the heroine is TSTL (too stupid to live) for the first quarter of the book. I never did figure out where the story takes place; somewhere south of Ohio, possibly in Kentucky, is all I got from something very late in the book. I did finish it, but I'm not sure how much I missed because of the awful narrator. He was very hard to get used to and actually hear the story.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I was just happy the the mess was finally over. At least it had a happy ending.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jim Frangione’s performances?

Only if I really, really, needed to hear the story. I really, really disliked the narrator. Quick sentences, then a quiet space, then more quick sentences in a soft voice, like he was narrating golf and trying to make it exciting. Very hard to get used to and actually hear the story. He needs to narrate a

Did Savor the Danger inspire you to do anything?

Yeah, wish I could actually read it on Kindle or in a real book, but with my vision that's not happening.

Any additional comments?

Audible should indicate that this is part of a series.

A Big Disappointment.

I listened to the other books in the series and loved them. Was looking forward to Alani's story. OMG this woman was a pain in the butt. I thought she was weak and lacked common sense. She may have been a competent business owner (thanks to her over protective older brother) but she sounded and acted like a teenager sometimes. I almost stopped listening when Jackson told her to stay in the bedroom so he can check something out and just because she heard her ex thought it was safe to come out. Got mad at Jackson because she didn't like his "tone" when he told her to stay put.

I also had a problem with Jackson. Obviously something happened to him in the beginning and instead of trying to figure out what happened to him he was trying to get into Alani's pants. Every conversation got back to sex. Don't get me wrong I love sex in a good story but he just seemed overly obsessive about it.

I've downloaded the next book but I'm in no hurry to listen. I need to shake this one off first.

Had no problem with the narrator. Thought he did a great job.

How did this get such good ratings?!

What would have made Savor the Danger better?

Different characters! These ones are so one dimensional that I found myself alternately cringing and rolling my eyes. The women especially are just plain irritating; if you're looking for strong, well developed female characters, avoid this book (I think I actually heard "let's leave this to the men" at some point).

Plot... what plot?? It's predictable and almost laughable.

The frustrating thing is that there were so many opportunities for the author to flesh out both the character and plot. Based on the summary, there's a lot of material to work with. Instead, she just goes on an on about how strong and tender he is, how she needs to be protected, how much they love each other but don't want to tell the other... blah, blah, blah.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Winter Prey by John Sandford.

What does Jim Frangione bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice is easy to listen to but it doesn't really change to suit the character. This makes it a little confusing as it's hard to follow who's supposed to be saying what to who.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not really.
