She's a lone wolf with a cause.
As a volunteer at a shelter for lone shifters - the same one that rescued her - Makenna Wray has dedicated her life to finding homes for its residents. And when she discovers that a teen in her care is related to Ryan Conner, the broody, handsome-as-sin enforcer of the Phoenix Pack, she's eager to help connect the two. She just wasn't prepared to feel a connection of her own.
Lone wolves are loners for a reason - and most of them bad. Or so Ryan assumes until he meets the mysterious Makenna. Quirky and sensual, she seems to enjoy riling him, especially when she refuses to discuss her past. Although there is no mating bond, he's sure she's the one. All he has to do is be patient and wait. But when another pack's sinister Alpha comes sniffing around, threatening Makenna and her shelter, this enforcer is ready to let his wolf off the leash....

I loved this. I'm a girl but not a crybaby I was about to break down in my office. This is defenitly worth a credit. LOVED IT
I love all genres of books. However, when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
Savage Urges is my fifth book in the Phoenix Pack series and I really enjoyed the book. Author Suzanne Wright had quite the great series going on here. Her writing style just draws me in and her characters are just so top notch. She definitely has a something worth listening too here.
Oh my gosh, I just loved Makenna and Ryan. She’s strong, fiercely loyal, and just perfect for Ryan. Ryan, oh my. How can someone be so sexy while being broody! They both have some serious hurt in their pasts but instead of destroying them, it just makes them so much stronger. Mixing them together, her sassy quirkiness and his my face may break if I show emotions, had my alternating between laughing and sighing. As good as the sex is between them, and it was REALLY good, it was their more personal moments that got my heart all aflutter. It’s not all smooth sailing for them. He’s convince she’s his mate and she doesn’t want to get hurt again, another pack tries to take over the shelter Makenna works out, missing relatives, lost loners, and so much more. Throw it all together it makes for a very hard to put down entertaining listen that ends in the best HEA.
And now for a little PSA. I really need to commend the author on her representation of the lone shifters. Whether it was intended or not, loners were described similar to the way most people think homeless people are. Shifty, bad, evil, they are homeless/loners because they choose to be. Showing them as not all bad but more of victims of their circumstances whether it is abuse, abandonment or forced out. While this is not my first book containing loner shifters, it is the first where they are not some horrible destructive force. Thank you Ms. Wright!
Any PNR fan, especially for shifters, will enjoy listening to Savage Urges. I love both and I know I have. Just make sure, unless you plan to stay up all night, to not start listening to this book before bed. You may find yourself struggling to put it down. Yup, it’s that good. Can’t wait for the next book!
Jill Redfield is one of my favourite narrators and she was outstanding with the delivery of the story
well, the 5th and final book of the Phoenix Pack was as great and the other 4. I am so excited about this series and hope to read more by Suzanne Wright
Say something about yourself!
Listened to 2 of the other books in this series and this one seems like it was written by someone else. It is one of the most boring books I've listened to in a long time. What a struggle to finish this book without falling asleep or tossing my iPod out of sheer frustration. Didn't care about either of the main characters.
I enjoy the Phoenix (and Mercury) Pack stories. I like the female lead and the story was good. I think it could have been a little more developed, but it was enjoyable. It's always nice when damaged souls find healing and become stronger. Who doesn't like a happy ending?
Loved this story. Ryan's is now my favorite of the Mercury pack stories. My only complaint was that the narrator sometimes sounded whiny when she was trying to come across as sexy or worked up. But otherwise it was a great story. Mackenna was great and I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Absolutely Love this series. Can not wait for the next book. Suzanne Wright did an excellent job writing this story. So much excitement and action packed into this book as well as the others in the series.
I love this series so much. I've read them all, but this is the first one I've listened to. Overall, it was pretty good. The story was awesome - I loved uber-broody Ryan in love. And there was tons of pack time and pack dynamics and a bunch of action.
I wasn't crazy about the narrator, however. She was a bit over dramatic a lot of time and her voices for Trey, Tao and Ryan were very low and slow. She made them sound unintelligent at times, and that bugged me.
So, another home run story from Suzanne Wright, but I think I'll stick to reading them in the future.
I love reading and I love audiobooks!
If you've listened to the books in the series then you know how great they are. Once again, this author and narrator do not disappoint!
Story was pretty predicable but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of this. The fight scene had me in tears the narrator does such an amazing job showing the emotion through her voice!!!!
"Great series, great narrator."
I've read this series on kindle and loved it. Suzanne knows how to spin a very good tale and is very talented. The banter between the characters is hilarious and you can't help yourself to even like Gretta. The audio books version are even better thanks to the amazing Jill Redfield, she gave each characters their own voice and emotions. An amazing series that is very well narrated.
"Naughty, delicious and wonderful"
There are few books written, where the storyline just keeps getting better... this series is one of them... another brilliant addition to the Phoenix Pack. My only concern is that the narrator seems to pause in a few unnecessary places but hey that could be down to the production team!!! As Jill Redfield has done a brilliant job with the previous installments of this series ...
