When Gabe Hamilton saw Mia Crestwell walk into the ballroom for his hotel’s grand opening, he knew he was going to hell for what he had planned. After all, Mia is his best friend’s little sister. Except she’s not so little anymore. And Gabe has waited a long time to act on his desires.
Gabe has starred in Mia’s fantasies more than once, ever since she was a teenager with a huge crush on her brother’s best friend. So what if Gabe’s 14 years older? Mia knows he’s way out of her league, but her attraction has only grown stronger with time. She’s an adult now, and there’s no reason not to act on her most secret desires. As Gabe pulls her into his provocative world, she realizes there’s a lot she doesn’t know about him or how exacting his demands can be. Their relationship is intense and obsessive, but as they cross the line from secret sexual odyssey to something deeper, their affair runs the risk of being exposed - and is vulnerable to a betrayal far more intimate than either expected.

Sparse in theme/plot/story line, more on sex or BDSM wannabe. The author should have thought about the scene where Gabe 'served' Mia out to three other men. What is that?
I normally like Maya Banks books, but I was sadly disappointed in this one and have no plans to finish the series.
Not overly impressed with Adam Paul's narration. Maybe a female narrator would have been better. But I doubt it.
Everything, the plot is unrealistic, any vague facts are difficult to digest and the whole story line leaves you feeling as though you are listening to elevator music.
In all honesty I don't know
Not really, it could be due to the content he was forced to read, but I didn't like his voice much either
I couldn't get through the whole book, but I simply would not have published it in the first place
It really was very disappointing, there was no simmering tension, just straight into graphic sex scenes with bondage etc etc. maybe there are people out there who thrive on this sort of thing but not me. I think the blurb should also have a warning on the content, I genuinely believe that it is not suitable for younger teenage girls. I would not want my 13 year old niece reading it, the blurb does not give an inkling about the nature of the writing. It sends a very poor message to women, who on earth, in this day an age, would accept a contract such as the 'hero' proposes in this novel. Sorry, maybe it improves, but in didn't even make it to halfway before I turned it off in disgust.
The other 2 male charactors might make it possibility, they were more likeable.
Charactors don't seems real.....A girl that smart and beautiful with a solid support system would not degrade herself like that.
I restarted this story 3 times before I fianlly got through it. Narraotors voice droned on and on.
All but the last few chapters.
This is the first romance from Audible I've heard that is so raunchy and degrding to the woman. I need to check the reviews closer next time. I feel like I need a shower! Very disappointed.
If you're an open minded reader and modern, slightly erotic romance is your genre, then I'd suggest ignoring the negative reviews of the book and trying it. I went in a bit suspicious due to the reviews, but found I liked the plot and characters. My ability to connect with a character's humanity is important to me and and I felt Banks included enough humanity in her characters to make them real and relate-able. This series reads a bit like the 50 Shades Trilogy in regards to the kink so if you didn't like or were appalled by those books then don't give Banks' Rush Series a try -- you probably won't like it either.
I would describe the audio performance of this series as good, not excellent, but that's probably because I felt like Paul's voice made the men sound older than intended. This is a personal opinion, though, and I didn't take marks off for his performance because he did well in all other ways.
I preferred Adam Paul's performance in Rush to his performance in the KGI series because I was used to Harry's voices.
The story was entertaining. I am not a fan of kinky sex. However, the delivery was not too severe in this case. Not a spectacular story - I much prefer the KGI series. But, worth a listen. Maya Banks is an extraordinary talent. Her range is phenominal!
I generally like maya banks highlander series so I thought I would try this one as well. I found this book disturbing and downright uncomfortable in part. While the characters are likeable by the end there are parts where you almost feel like you need a shower to wash off the images that are described. While this book is touted as the next "fifty shades" what is missing here are the reasons for the character's actions.
That said based on the highlander series I did give maya another try
If the story line was actually interesting....
Gabe was a washout.. Come here do this.. All the time nothing really new and exciting
Sure... I liked Adam... But a lot of people haven't.. I just didn't mind
Don't waste a credit..
Say something about yourself!
This book is detailed, graphic, and yes articulate about sex in general….but it also has a nice plot! There is a difference between graphic details for the sake of graphic details and graphic details that further a story…and if you don’t like graphic sex in books then don’t get this one. If you do like your books on the naughty graphic side of life this is for you! I have written the word graphic SIX times now…and inevitably there will be the idiot that gets the book and gives it a low rating because it was….yup, you guessed it….graphic…you have been warned!
The narration was great, the feminine lead was strong, yet submissive, and it reminded me of the Sweet Series in how you could really get into the mindset of the characters. Can’t wait for book two, thanks for another great one Maya!
I'm a 25 year old mum to my beautiful nearly 2 yr old daughter and i LOVE books , both reading and listening to them :D
