Publisher's summary

Opposites in every way...except the one that matters.

Shaw Landon loved Rule Archer from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule is everything a straight-A pre-med student like Shaw shouldn't want - and the only person she's never tried to please. She isn't afraid of his scary piercings and tattoos or his wild attitude. Though she knows that Rule is wrong for her, her heart just won't listen.

To a rebel like Rule Archer, Shaw Landon is a stuck-up, perfect princess - and his dead twin brother's girl. She lives by other people's rules; he makes his own. He doesn't have time for a good girl like Shaw - even if she's the only one who can see the person he truly is.

But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now, Shaw and Rule have to figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love...or each other.

The first Marked Men novel in Jay Crownover's combustible New Adult series.

The over excited reviewer giving 5 stars?

Would you consider the audio edition of Rule to be better than the print version?

I read the print version of this story and fell in love with Rule and Shaw. I was very excited to see the audiobook available. The narrators had the perfect voices to match the image the author paints for you. This was a "I can't put it down" book for me.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This book was definitely hard to stop and come back to.

Love Love Love!!!

If you could sum up Rule in three words, what would they be?

Sassy, Sexy and Sweet.

What other book might you compare Rule to and why?

Books that have similarities (and coincidently have the same female narrator) are Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams and Fall With Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Both are outstanding as well.

Have you listened to any of Sophie Eastlake and Michael Rahhal ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to a ton of Sophie Eastlake - she also reads as Julia Whelan, and I love her. I personally love her distinction between characters, both male and female, I really can't say enough good things about her. This was the first book that I had ever listened to with Michael Rahhal and I loved him. So much so that I tried to find more books that he narrates and I did find him under another synonym Freddie Bates.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I've both read and listened to this book several times, and while I love listening to an audiobook in one sitting I've listened to this one enough that it doesn't feel choppy for me if I don't listen to it in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

This is the first book in the Marked Men series. Each book can be listened to or read as a standalone though. Personally this is my favorite one of the bunch even though they are all amazing. This book follows Shaw and Rule and is told (as each book is) from a dual POV. Rule and Shaw have known each other for several years since Rule's, now deceased twin brother, Remy befriended Shaw while they were in high school. Everybody always thought Remy and Shaw were a couple, but they weren't and Shaw has been secretly in love with troubled bad boy Rule since she first laid eyes on him. But to Rule, she's always just been Shaw, perfect unattainable Shaw. Throw in some difficult parents, a hard to shake ex-boyfriend, some hot sex scenes and a motley crew of friends and this makes for a wonderful listen.

We get real people with real problems, with flaws, and with attributes that you see in the people around you. Jay Crownover is one of my top favorite authors, she has made characters that feel like they could be your real life friends. You're going to think, 'Hey, if I'm ever in Denver I should look and see how they're doing.' And that is a true testament to Jay Crownover.

The chemistry in this book is off the charts. Rule and Shaw together are one of my favorite couples. And really if I'm being honest this is at the top on my personal top ten books/audiobooks (yeah...both of them). I highly recommend this!!!

LOVE THIS BOOK! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this book. Frenemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and Jay Crownover does an awesome job with Rule. It was sexy, fun and cool and it leaves you wanting more of Rule and Shaw and their Denver world. Narration was great. Sophie Eastlake is one of my favorite narrators and does a fantastic job, as always. Micheal Rahhal was also good although new to me as far as narrating.

I would absolutely recommend this audiobook!

Addictive

I’ve had the ebook edition on my TBR list for what seems to be forever and a day now. So I decided to get the audiobook because...well, why not? I listened to the sample and right away knew I would enjoy the story.

And I was right.

Not only did I enjoy this book, but I was addicted to listening to it! I was hooked and completely in love with Rule and Shaw’s romance! Their roller coaster journey had quite a few ups and downs and even some curveballs thrown into the mix. Loved, loved, loved this book!

And the narrators? Amazing! Both Sophie Eastlake and Michal Rahhal did a FANTASTIC job in bringing these characters to life.

I am definitely checking out the other books in the series now.

I am so irritated with myself for waiting SO long to dive into this book. LOL! Don’t make my same mistake and get this book.

FIVE MUST-READ STARS!!
