Publisher's summary

They're here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Born of a match between good and evil, four siblings stand between hell's minions and everything they want to destroy. They are the Lords of Deliverance, and they have the power to ward off Doomsday...or let it ride....

Rogue Rider Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues - and falls for - a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming, and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man whom Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man who can be very dangerous....

Reseph may not know why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbors are killed, and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: Can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

Loved loved looooved Reseph's story!

Smoking hot horseman of the apocalypse- checked
Dark misterious complex story- checked
Sizzling hot love scenes- checked
Melt your heart romance- checked
Great Happily Ever After that leaves you wanting more- checked

This is a five star story as every other Larissa Ione book. I highly recommend the whole series but it MUST be listened to in order. This is a complex world that the author developed and you can get lost if you do not follow the order.

Narration: I dont particularly like Erin Bennett as a narrator. She tends to go into "robot mode" and doesn't really add that intensity to the story that I expect from top narrators.

Not the best in the series; but still good

Reseph as Pestilence did so much that I simply cannot forgive him for... I totally understand he was not himself...but c'mon... so hard to forgive him... I actually hate him and feel so dang bad for him at the same time... That is just how good of a writer Larissa Ione is.... This book was most definitely need after all the crap he put his brothers and sister through.. and I am so glad they didn't just forgive him... but WOW... He literally is the greatest bad guy ever who totally needed to be redeemed... Jillian was the perfect fit him... so glad she is a wolf too... a bit for Reseph to keep him in line...

Great addition to the series... but again... not the best in the bunch...

Narration was awesome...

Good buy, sale or credit...

I LOVE the entire Lords of Deliverence Series!

Would you consider the audio edition of Rogue Rider to be better than the print version?

Never read the print....so N/A

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rogue Rider?

Hard to say...the entire storyline arc just comes together. And Pestilence is redeemed.

What does Erin Bennett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Wonderful narrator. She voices the characters clearly (i.e. gives then their own "voice/identity" so the listener is never confused as to who is speaking. She also infuses the characters and her "lines" with feelings and emotes properly.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It's really hard to say. I was moved and captivated throughout the entire book (and the whole series).

Any additional comments?

I saw on Amazon that there will be another installment titles Reves (the angel). Would love to see it on audible as well whenever it comes out.

Worth a credit

Would you listen to Rogue Rider again? Why?

Larissa Ione's books don't usually end up on my re-read list, and while this one is one of the better ones I don't anticipate rushing back to read it again any time soon. If you're a huge fan of the series though, and tend to give it 5 star ratings, then I'm sure you'll want to read this one over and over.

The main characters are both likable, with believable baggage. The story contains some fun, steamy scenes, as well as dialogue that is quite amusing in places. I think my favorite aspect of this story is that Ione doesn't simply sweep away the accumulated problems of the past four books. She handles the horsemen's re-introduction to Resef in a very credible way. She also ties up some loose ends from the series while opening the way for more stories, and there is a Harvester-related plot twist that I just loved.

What other book might you compare Rogue Rider to and why?

This one has the complex plot construction and tangled web of characters of all the Horsemen books. It's not a simple, fluffy romance that just happens to feature a demon--Ione has created a complex world that is always exciting to revisit.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Her voice is very dead-pan. She does an ok job differentiating male and female characters, and her reading isn't completely lacking in emotion, but there were definitely places where I thought a little more animation would have contributed to the feeling of drama the author was obviously trying to create.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really. There was one plot twist (see above) that made me go "Oh!" but the rest was pretty much as expected. Resef's reunion with his family was difficult to read, because as much as the discerning reader in me appreciated the believability of their initial reaction to the fact that he wasn't dead, I felt bad for him!

Reseph's Redemption

What a GREAT ending to the Lords of Deliverance series. Although I wasn't crazy about book 3, this one more then made up for it. Reseph was so horrible in the previous three books that I found it hard to believe the author could possibly make his redemption believable. Thankfully I was so wrong! You will absolutely fall in love with Reseph in this book. Ms. Ione did a brilliant job of making it feel real and not forced.

I want to give this book 5 stars all around, but again I didn't care for the narrator (just a personal preference).

Overall this is a credit worthy listen and a must read for fans of the series.

I can't believe I actually liked Reseph!

If you could sum up Rogue Rider in three words, what would they be?

Wow. Just wow.

What did you like best about this story?

The way Larissa turned Reseph's character around. I was really worried that I would still dislike him, but he ended up tugging on my heart strings.

Have you listened to any of Erin Bennett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Maybe. I haven't kept track of readers as much as I should, apparently.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Finding Redemption

Exciting, Highly Recommend

Would you listen to Rogue Rider again? Why?

Yes, I love this series! To have started with the first Larissa Ione book and followed the entire series was a great story. I would highly recommend for anyone that has not read the first book not to start with this one but to start at least with the first Lords of Deliverance book.

Which scene was your favorite?

I cannot say without giving away part of the ending.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed and cried during this audiobook.

Any additional comments?

All the books in this series are a fantastic listen worth the credits to start with the first Lords of Deliverance.

Riding with Pestilence.

I have really enjoyed this series. Don't start with this one though, start with the Demonica series first. I wasn't sure how this one was going to end up and was pleasantly surprised how well it work out. Now I am impatiently waiting for Reaver's book which I am hoping isn't going to be the last. Narrator is good. Other series to consider if you like this one is Gena Showalters Lord of the Underworld series.
