Publisher's summary

He says he's no good for her.

She hates that he might be right.

Brook Dumas found Remington Tate in REAL, and now it's her best friend Melanie's turn to find the man who makes her heart sing. After years of searching, one night in the rain the strong and mysterious Greyson King comes to her rescue. He's bold and maybe just the lover, friend, and protector she's been searching for. When they make love, he says her name like it means something. Like she means something - and that's everything she's ever wanted.

He disappears for days without a word, and when he's around he says he'll only hurt her. But when he's away, her heart hurts more.

Then Melanie uncovers the dark world he'd been determined to keep hidden and suspects that their random first meeting might have not been so random after all.

Caught in a free fall of emotions, Melanie has no one to catch her but the man she should be running from....

But what do you do when your Prince Charming has gone Rogue?

Good book

Typical Katy Evans book that doesn't disappoint. The build up wasn't quite as good as it was in Real but it was still a very good romance book. Definitely worth a credit.

Narration ruined the story!!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Please, please, please, do not use Shayna Thibodeaux for any of the upcoming narrators for this REAL series (or any audio book for that matter). She ruined the story for me! If I hadn't already liked Melanie from the previous 3 books, I would have disliked her character because of her voice. Melanie's voice was grating, annoying and so unpleasant to listen to, I found myself checking to see how much time was remaining for Melanie's POV and hoping to hear Jason again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rogue?

I loved Greyson and his possessive and devoted behavior. I tried to get past Melanie's voice and actually enjoy Melanie's POV, but it was difficult. All the scenes where Greyson and Melanie interacted and the sex scenes were hot! I think my favorite part was when Melanie awoke from her coma.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jason Carpenter and Shayna Thibodeaux ?

Jason Carpenter was great. ANYONE other than Shayna Thibodeaux. Although my favorite male narrator is Sebastian York, when I see he's one of the narrators, I almost purchase the book without reading the reviews!

Did Rogue inspire you to do anything?

Anxiously await for the 4th book, "Ripped" which will be Pandora's story. I hope we get to see more of Brooke, Remy, Melanie and Greyson.

Any additional comments?

I absolutely love the REAL series! Remy and Brooke's story was so touching and wonderful. I fell in love with Remy...and of course with Sebastian York as the narrator, how could you keep from falling in love with Remy!
I came very close many times during the story to take other reviewers advice and stop listening and purchase "Rogue" on my Kindle, just to escape Shayna Thibodeaux, but I stuck it out to the end!

not much depth to the characters.

I didn't find much to like about either character. he was hot and mysterious. she was shallow and ditsy. not nearly as good as her other books.

great story ruined by horrible narration

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The story is great. Great addition to the Real series.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator ruined this. I actually can't believe this was published with narration this bad.

Female Narrator just bored me too death - too bad

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story needs some more background interests and storylines

Would you be willing to try another book from Katy Evans? Why or why not?

Yes but that was the reason I purchased this one I did have the previous ones and loved them

How could the performance have been better?

If the male narrator told the whole story! The female narrator killed it for me she seemed to be always going 200miles per hour no difference in the storylines

Could you see Rogue being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No

Any additional comments?

I was really disappointed since the previous books were so much better.

Rogue is indeed the right word...

What disappointed you about Rogue?

In Rogue, unfortunately the author kept throwing in sex scenes, just to add sex scenes. The character is VERY un-relatable and I am not just referring to him being a criminal. He truly did not posses any other kind quality, besides wanting to protect and sleep with her. Remy had a disability. Rogue is just... Rogue... Sorry. I really tried but could not get myself to like this book.

Ruined By Narration

What did you like best about this story?

Of course Greyson is everything every woman wants! He's tall, tan, ripped, protective, and all we want from an alpha male! His lifelong insecurites tugged at my heartstrings and kept me coming back for more!

What didn’t you like about Jason Carpenter and Shayna Thibodeaux ’s performance?

Shayna was a terrible pick for the voice of Melanie in this novel. She read too fast and gained momentum in all the wrong places. All I could picture was her, book in hand, reading to an auditorium full of college kids right before a group discussion. It was so distracting, I found myself getting lost in her ups and downs rather than the story itself.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Grey barges into the hotel room and drags Melanie out to keep her from having revenge sex! Grey shoves Melanie into the limo and she admits to Grey she would have gone through with it after catching him at dinner with another woman. Melanie didnt understand what was truly going on during that dinner and Grey's heartbreak and insecurities over her revelation send me into a complete tizzy!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book, but do yourself a favor and read it on your own.

I think I have Had Enough Katy Evans

In all honesty this entire book felt as if it was enforced on me and I had to grasp on straws just to try and stay in step with the progression of the plot.

Rogue started off with a series feel... but midway through moved to a stand-alone (which it is) pace. Slow... briefly detailed and then just as you are getting on par with the pace... rushed and forced ahead without natural growth.

Majority of the time I felt confused and dumb - I didn't always know what was really happening.

I felt this book was beyond cheesy... and please... I love cheesy lines! So that's saying something. I even had cringing moments of total mortification for the words and actions and again... I'm no Sunday school teacher. I couldn't swallow a lot of this book... but again, it kept me reading. How? I'm not entirely sure, but I finished it and that again says a whole lot.

I felt the insta-love (I hate insta-love) relationship between Melanie and Greyson didn't progress as smoothly as it was suppose to. I sort of felt as if there were parts missing since the jumps felt really huge. As an example... I originally thought their relationship had only reach about a 3 week level, yet at one point Melanie mentions that it had been months instead of just weeks. I may have spaced out a little and lost all meaning of time... but I don't think I did.

I also didn't think the peak within this plot was reached as successfully as it could have. The character reactions compared to the on-going fear of the truth coming out didn't really balance well. A total anti-climax. I didn't love the fact that it was very, very clear that Melanie's a complete and utter slut. I have no problem at all with characters having had many lovers... but I'm not one fore constant reminder that the female character spread her legs for anything as long as it was male and alive. Complete turn off for me when it comes to trying to connect with any female character.

As a whole this book wasn't a 'waste of time'... it simply wasn't brilliant. There are many faults and gapes that could (actually should) have been filled. Since this isn't a first for author Katy Evans, it's a huge surprise to me that this book lacks the 'completed' feeling. I kind of want to say that this shouldn't have been a stand-alone. There's enough info and history in this book to have made it a two book series... or at the very least, half the book longer than it is. There's a whole lot missing and I feel that it is incomplete. I still don't think I've caught up to the pace in which this book moved. It was scary fast!

I am not a fan of duel narrators and this book was let down by the delivery of Shayna Thibodeaux she read too fast and her voice was annoying. Jason Carpenter was great with his part of the story.

Can't finish, horrible narration

What disappointed you about Rogue?

I got 4 hrs into it and just couldn't take anymore. The female narration is horrible! All I imagine is someone standing there reading it to me. She talks fast and breathy, it's so annoying. I can't get in to the story at all. Very disappointed. I'm returning this and buying the book. I love Katy Evans but not this narration! I don't know why they didn't use the other ones from the previous 3 books.

Hmmmm

The females voice in this was so annoying that half way thru I didn't think I could finish. I pushed thru. This is one to read not listen to. Obviously. But her voice ruined it for me.
