"I know that better than most. Since rejoining the Pride, I've made big decisions and even bigger mistakes: the kind paid for with innocent lives. As the first and only female enforcer, I have plenty to prove to my father, the Pride, and myself. And with murdered toms turning up in our territory, I'm working harder than ever, though I always find the energy for a little after-hours recreation with Marc, my partner both on and off duty.
"But not all my mistakes are behind me. We're beginning to suspect that the dead are connected to a rash of missing human women, and that they can all be laid at my feet - two or four, take your pick. And one horrible indiscretion may yet cost me more than I can bear."

Say something about yourself!
THE MAIN CHARACTOR IS STARTING TO GET INTO HER FAMILY LIFE IN THE PRIDE BUT OF COURSE THERE IS A FEW PROBLEMS. LOVE THE STORY, LOVE THE DRAMA.
I kinda enjoyed the first book in this series and decided to try another one. I'm not sure if it was worth it or not. Some of it was fun, but I have trouble with the main character. I decided this is the last of the series I will read, since I just can't tolerate the story being wrapped around a spoiled brat. It's hard for me to believe the story when you have this loose cannon of a character that supposedly is extremely important, but who is allowed to misbehave and act so immature. If one grew up in this type of situation, I don't think they would turn out to be a flighty brat and I just can't listen to that character any more.
After the first book "STRAY", I thought I would give Vincent one more chance to earn my approval. She disappointed in the biggest way!!
I have no problem with a strong heroine who has a mind of her own and wants to do her own thing but the author goes too far with her extremes!! On one hand you have the females of their society who embrace the HONOR they are given and they are seen by the heroine as weak, mindless, and without ambition. Then because of their weakness they are victimize in such brutal ways, while the heroine is still smart enough not to be victimized as far as the others. On the other hand, the heroine is adored by a man who has proven over and over that he loves her and is devoted to her but she continues to push him away because she doesn't want to be under the authority of him or any other man!! What an unhappy selfish brat she proves to be!!! Making the male characters out to be neanderthals is foolish!
It is with disgust that I finished this book! I almost couldn't stomach the effort! What a waste of my time and money on this one!!!
I can only hope that Ms. Vincent isn't of a similar character with this heroine! If so, she has my sympathy! I am a Daughter, Wife, Mother, and a business owner. My husband loves and respects me and supports my business efforts.
Rachel Vincent has done it again! I loved this story, which picked up after her 1st book Stray. I didn't want to put the headphones down for anything! A fantastic plot and storyline that keeps you hungry for more! Go Faythe!
Faythe is totally self centered. If you keep reading this series, you'll have to adjust to her doing one stupid mistake after another and breaking the heart of the man that loves her. As far as the werecats go, I like the characters and the situations that arise. It has an interesting adventure and mystery going on. I'm reading the next installment now, hoping Faythe's character will grow at some point to be more like able. (Still working on that one) For someone that wants to be a leader and enforcer, she just doesn't have a clue at times.
I remember being slightly underwhelmed with the first book in this series but thinking that I should stick it out because I loved the Soul Screamers series (still one of my favorite series). And I was right. This book was much better than the first book. I liked Faythe so much more in Shifters than I had before and just felt her more overall. But, oh, that ending - it's classic Rachel Vincent. I am definitely much more vested in this series and finding out what happens now. Also, Jennifer Van Dyck is a great narrator.
I absolutely LOVE the entire Werecat Series. Rachel Vincent has created a seducing world that 'lies just beneath the surface' of our real one. It is believable, inventive, full of intrigue, and consistently exciting. I have been placing her 'scheduled release' dates in my calendar so I have the next book as soon as it arrives! Faith is a likeable & rebellious character with honorable morals and her story, life, and relationships are ALL interesting! Can't wait for the next book in March of 2010! *There are sex scenes - not frequent or overly prolific (more romantic in nature) but still detailed & I recommend the reader be at least 18.
I am in utter awe as to how good this book is. I loved every minute of it right down to the end. This was an excellent purchase and I would recommened it to anyone.
I really liked the Rachel's first book 'Stray', and 'Rogue' was even better. Her characters are so realistic and relevant. The story draws the listener/reader in with it's plots twists and turns. The ending of Rogue really leaves you begging for the next book in the series.
