Publisher's summary

The final novel in the best-selling Six Pack Ranch series by New York Times best-selling author Vivian Arend.

There's no distance you can run to escape the past.

Too stubborn to face his sins, Jesse Coleman bolted from the Six Pack Ranch only to fall straight into the arms of a beautiful stranger. Twelve hours later the seductive firebrand is nothing but a whiskey-laced memory - but one powerful enough to convince Jesse tracking down his elusive lover is worth the effort.

Darilyn Hayes figured it was her lucky night when the sexiest cowboy in Alberta interrupted her annual drink-until-I-fall-over wake. At least until four weeks later, when she discovers she's pregnant and her one-night-stand is nowhere to be found. Still, as she's shared with her devoted blog readers, Dare has dealt with life's not-so-gentle surprises before. She'll make it on her own.

When a meme gone viral leads to their reunion, Jesse's floored by Dare's news. She's very clear she's not looking for a commitment, but screw that. He's going to do the right thing by her and his unborn kid. The fact they lit the sheets on fire is a bonus, but with a baby on the way, both their lives are gonna change. Jesse's got a ton of family to reconnect with, including his estranged twin. Dare holds family loosely - even though she loves them - because she knows too well how fragile life can be. Between her and Jesse, they've got enough baggage to open a store. But they still have a shot at forever - if they're willing to fight for it.

This final novel in the series contains the following: a sexy, dirty, cocky-as-hell prodigal-son Coleman with massive bridges to rebuild. A woman able to see to the heart of the matter yet bold enough to speak the truth. A family of extraordinary resolve and endless love. A wedding or two. And babies - oh lordy, the babies.

Awesome ending to an awesome series

This is the story we have been waiting for. Six Pack Ranch with all the Coleman's has been a great endearing read/listen. I have cried and laughed with each story. From Blake and Jaxie, Daniel and Beth, Matt and Hope, Gabe and Allison, Joel and Vicki, Travis and Cassidy and Ashley, Steve and Melody, Lee and Rachel, Trevor and Becky, Rafe and Laurel and the last Jesse and Dare. This story brings it all to a tearful, laughing end.
Since the audio came out first I will wait to update after others have had a chance to read this story.
Jesse's bring full circle.

Definitely a book that you do not want to pass by. I was so good it had me on the edge of my seat until the very last word. So sad that this was the last book for Rocky Mountain House .

Loved this one! Jesse and Dare are great and great together

I really enjoyed this one! I loved getting to see Jesse finally start growing up and fixing his mistakes and behavior. This is the 11th book in the series and while it can be read as a stand alone, there is definite benefits to having read previous books. We finally get to learn what has caused Jesse to act the way was for the last few years in the series and what has him leaving his family and traveling, working somewhere else. He leaves without much word and pretty quickly he ends up running into Dare and they have a one night stand. Both have lingered in each other's minds and Dare tried to locate him once she figured out she was pregnant. Luckily, they end up finding their way back together and in contact with each other. I loved how Dare and Jesse handled the unexpected pregnancy and communication with each other regarding that. They both realize that there is maybe something more between them as well with the connection so they decide to give it a bit of a go with Buckaroo (baby) being their main focus and concern though for what is best for them. I loved watching these two navigate the situation they were in and watching Jesse step up and still be himself. Dare and Jesse really bring out the best in each other and I loved the way that they communicated and supported each other. This story had some definitely hot moments as well as some really sweet and adorable ones. I loved watching Jesse come back into the family fold and how they, of course, brought Dare in as well. This story was well written and engaging. I loved the characters and getting to catch up with past ones as we watch Jesse finally get things figured out and find his love. I loved it and can't wait for more Colemans!
The narrator did a great job with the characters and bringing the story to life as well.

I love this series as a book

Would you consider the audio edition of Rocky Mountain Home to be better than the print version?

As I love reading this series as a book this was out before the book so I listen. I loved it. As of right now the book is not out but I do Love reading the books more in over all fashion to listening to them.

What other book might you compare Rocky Mountain Home to and why?

Other books I would compare to this is Cora Seton's books she has different series that all would fit in with this type of book. Marie Force's Gannett Island series would be another one that is all family working together.

Have you listened to any of Tatiana Sokolov’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never listen to one of Tatiana books. All the ones I have listen to was by Charles Lawrence books by Kylie Gilmore.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole book was fantastic but the part I loved the most was when Jesse Coleman relizrealized he was in love with Darilyn (Dare) Hayes. As I have been read and following this a hill series this was a big moment for Jesse.

Any additional comments?

Vivian did a fantastic job with this book. Sorry to see this series come to an end. I love these Coleman men and women and all of them having babies. I love how she saved the best for last. In all her books that can be read as stand alone we see Jesse be the one that stand out and not want to grow up even when his twin brother does. So when Dare just snuck right in and he finely see how Joel felt when he meet Vicky his better have Jesse finally got how that was just so important. In just a few months Jesse change a lot and becomes a better man. Over time there is still a lot of growing to do but he has Dare to help him and get him threw it.

enjoyable listen

Surprise pregnancy, small town, large family romance.

Dare and Jesse were great together.

Lots of lots of babies and family. I wouldn't recommend this if you haven't followed the series - it would be very confusing. Plus the intro to the next spinoff series introductions.

Easy to listen to narration

*****

Vivian Arend really did a solid job finishing up this series. No disappointments here. I think I prefer the 2 person narration but I had no trouble with the audible and thought she did a great job as well.

What an Ending!

Would you listen to Rocky Mountain Home again? Why?

I would definitely listen to it again! Waiting for Jesse's story to commence was hard, even as all the other Colemans were wonderful to read. I will more than likely start the event at the beginning with Blake and Jaxi's story and then make it all the way to the end to Jesse and Dare.

What other book might you compare Rocky Mountain Home to and why?

Really it's hard to compare it to anyone else's stories. It follows the vein of the whole Coleman family, brothers and cousins. They just all fit together so well.

Which scene was your favorite?

Actually, the scene I remember the most that made me laugh was when Tamara Coleman meets Dare's brother Caleb and puts him on his ass. (I'm hoping that might be a couple for a future story?) Watching Jesse come home and have to deal with his brothers after leaving so poorly was great to see. It was very well written. Groveling and some angry and hurt feelings made it very realistic. They loved him, but didn't make it a completely happy reunion. He was given his due.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Joel and Vicki took him to see their house being built...That was a wonderful moment.

Any additional comments?

Read the complete Six Pack series from start to finish, and don't forget the Thompson boys, too!
