Publisher's Summary

Easton Beck is known as the guy who ran. The guy who took his band out of the public eye to recover from the loss that shattered his world and his heart.

Lark Williams has officially sworn off all men. Despite her world falling apart six weeks ago, she agrees to participate in the Perfect Match Cruise. After all, who would turn down a Caribbean vacation?

But like love, the perfect match is unpredictable. Two hearts are on a collision course, and they couldn't be more perfect if they tried.

One musician with a broken heart.

One gorgeous woman who stopped believing in love.

One week in paradise.

There's only one rule on the ship - there are no rules.

Welcome aboard. Prepare to be rocked.

    "Rock the Boat Stars"

You know those books, you are super happy to read but when you’re in to it your like hmmm.

This book is kind of that for me. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it I am in the in-between, maybe I was expecting too much? I think the plot of this book was pretty cool.

You go on a boat cruise and meet your perfect match. Kinda cool I think. I love that Lark’s girlfriend gets her to go, to get her out of her funk after a terrible break up. Because let’s face it we all need that friend right.

Easton’s heart is smashed, after losing the love of his life he doesn’t know how to come back from that. He also has a pretty amazing friend who is encouraging him to come back to the land of the living not saying he has to forget her just that he needs to start to move on.

I don’t know whether it’s me or what but I just don’t see the meaning to “forgetting” with alcohol. Yes its fiction but I just don’t see the appeal.

In the end it was and ok book. I was surprised the audio has a male narrator. Don’t get me wrong his voice is smooth as butter. But I thought the book would have been more suited for a female narrator.

    Story
    "An enjoyable & sweet romance!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this is a very enjoyable listen. Yes it is predictable, yes it is a little cheesy but it is still a very sweet love story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rock the Boat?

When Easton saved her in the ocean.

What about Jeremy Vore’s performance did you like?

I thought Jeremy did a great job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the ship docked and they all left. My heart broke for them!

    "CHEESY, PREDICTABLE and JUVENILE"
What would have made Rock the Boat better?

It actually had some potential with the theme but it was all too contrived, sweet and perfect to even believe...

What was most disappointing about Gia Riley’s story?

That you were rolling your eyes every ten seconds because of the immaturity the of the story and characters. I mean really? These characters could not cope with life...they have to drink themselves into a stupor every time things are not neat and tidy, which was ridiculous... it was just so ridiculous, I had to turn it off or throw up

Would you be willing to try another one of Jeremy Vore’s performances?

His voice was fine, BUT you could not tell one character from another...it all sounded the same

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

NOT. A. ONE. Did a teen write this book because that is the level of maturity of this story?

"ROCKIN' STORY... Needs a feminine voice."
    Any additional comments?

I received this book free from the author through Audiobook Boom, for an honest review.
The concept was very original. The writing was good and the story grabbed me from the start and flowed strongly through the entire listen.
The narrator had a great voice for Easton, unfortunately, it didn't change for the Lark. More than often, I found myself wondering which character's dialog I was listening to.
As romances go, it had it all right. IMO, I think Easton fell in love a bit too fast while Lark became painfully reluctant. I would have liked seeing more of their time together instead of the bulk of their relationship being built on their pasts. The ending was a complete surprise. Nicely done, Aidan!
