Usually I wouldn't buy another book by any author that leaves me hanging. However I really fell in love with these characters. So much so that I went out and bought the paperbacks. But must say I really, really, like the audio's. Specially the narrator Eric G. Dove who does a fantastic job narrating all of them. Not only do they keep one on the edge of their seat, they are so funny I laugh out loud as I picture this little town and all the town's people. Be sure to buy all of this series as it is more than worth it.
Brooks novels are great just the presenter missed the mark
Not likely - I have enjoyed reading her books so may stick with that format. I enjoy listening to books and read lots as well however this one was the first audio book that I found painfully to continue.
May be a woman's voice
Dannie and Mo - sad considering they are some of the main characters.
This is not great writing - in fact, it's rather shallow and immature. Nevertheless, in spite of myself, I've somehow become involved with the series. The idea - the premise of the story is great - it's just that the plot and especially the relationships between the characters are not very well developed. Things happens very quickly with little or no explanation and I frequently have a "how did this happen?" reaction. The narrator seems to get good reviews, but I think he sounds somewhat forced and enforces the lack of depth. All of this being said - I have to admit to being entertained and I will probably listen to more of the series. Maybe a good female reader would help out a bit.
I love the picture chosen for this book but similar to book one in the series, this one had zero passion and the love story developed literally over two dates. Don’t see that happening in real life so it was hard for me to totally get into a story where the main characters were SOOOO in love so quickly. Weak action sprinkled here and there and good narration. Not sure if I can recommend it as great work of action or romance, but it was entertaining enough.
Great story! Keeps you on the edge of your seat.
She is true to life.
