Publisher's summary

"As president of the Predators MC, my men and I are used to preying on the weak and those stupid enough to cross our paths. So why does a straitlaced teacher make me sit up and take notice when I see her for the first time? The brothers all think she makes me weak, and believe me, weak in their eyes isn't where I want to be. She wants me to prove she means more to me than the club, and when I fail, she thinks she can just walk away. She's wrong. I'm a Predator, and nothing escapes me."

"As a teacher, I'm supposed to want to educate those who want to learn, right? That's what I believed until I was told I'd have to teach a class at the prison. I didn't move to a town labeled as one of the safest places in America only to be faced with a bunch of Predators. He expects me to trust him despite being the reason I'm trapped in the middle of a prison riot. His club means more to him than I ever will, and if I give him a chance, he will break the fragile peace I have managed to find. It's not the first time I've had to escape a predator."

NOT ONE OF THE GOOD ONES I'M AFRAID

I don't know whether it was the Author, the storyline or the narrator (or all three combined) that made this listen such a flop for me but it sadly fell flat. The Publisher's Summary of the book sounded interesting but I just couldn't connect with the hero or heroine, there wasn't much depth to the story, it wasn't very descriptive and it unfortunately wasn't the usual type of biker romance that I love. And because of this, I couldn't conjure up any mental images of the characters or the scenes which is so important as that's what draws me into a good book and keeps me there.

Worth a credit? It seemed more like a draft of a book and it was just waiting for all the details to be added to bring color and life to it...... so NO, IMO, not a creditworthy listen (but maybe if it's in a $4.95 sale).

liked the story, but the narrator, not so much.

The rapid fire pace of the narrator left my head spinning. Made the story fall flat with her lack of inflection. The story itself is well written, just poorly performed.

TERRIBLE NARRATION!!!! Story had such potential!

This story would have been better without the performance of this particular narrator . I believe this author's editor did a poor job of helping her flesh out the story. The entire listen is flat, although to be fair, there were some ok moments.

I liked the premise of the story with a prison backdrop of the prison riot. Ice is a likable hero, if not totally believable,at least likable. This storyline could have been so much if the author had been able to develop a stronger story. The heroine (Grace) had a scary past which would have made a better prologue. The story itself need better plot and character development. (HINT: strong language during sex does not a story make).

The story falls flat. If I were this author I would go back to the computer and start fresh with this storyline. I think it could be great with the right fixes.

This book is NOT worth a credit ... and I hesitate to even recommend it for a sale. The narrator is just too annoying!!

Disappointed!!

After the great stories of "last Riders" this was so wimpy!' Starts out great and goes downhill from there!! If not for the performance )which is really good, ) I would not have been able to finish!
Sorry Jamie, you are one of my favorite authors. I hope book 2 picks up the slack!

Not my fav Jamie book

I have listened to Jamie Begleys other books and loved them, but this one not so much. It may have been the narrator. She talked too fast.
But I will give the next book a chance!

NOT AS GOOD AS THE LAST RIDERS SERIES

Would you try another book from Jamie Begley and/or Delphine St. Sirene?

Jamie Begley is one of my favourite authors, but this first book in the Predators MC was only okay for me. I liked the two main characters, Ice who's president of the Predators, and Grace was a sweetheart. But it felt like I was reading two different stories. One about Grace and Ice's romance, and Ice and the Predators back at their clubhouse. Grace wasn't not integrated enough into club life IMO. As to the narrator, I'm a little undecided, she voiced the female characters well. But the male characters were a bit of a fail for me. She also read the story at a very fast pace it took me a while to get used to it. What was the rush?

Would you be willing to try another book from Jamie Begley? Why or why not?

I will definitely read more from this author.

Did Delphine St. Sirene do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The narrator read the female characters well. But she merely used a gruff voice for the male characters which didn't work for me.

Do you think Riot needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No I don't think a follow up book is needed as I'm sure their characters will appear in the other books in this series.

Not the best but not the worst

I wouldn't say this is one of Ms. Begley's best, but it was still funny (the dogs), sexy (Ice) and the story wasn't too bad but not as great as the Rider series. Ice did reminded me very much of the sexy alpha male, Razer, from the Riders' series though and that was not a bad thing. What totally ruined it for me was the narrator. OMG..she was awful. She ended every sentence with a lift, almost like a question, and her male voices were horrible, making them sound like little scruffy boys instead of badass bikers. No matter what though, the author's stories always make me laugh because of the dialogue - back and forth - among the characters. Please do not use this narrator for any of these biker stories. I know the author has no control over this but Audible does. Please do not use this narrator for any of this series. Her voice may work for other genres, but not this one. Bikers have to sound badass!

Ummm

I love the author but the narrator made it very hard to listen to, I think her interpretation made the female character more whiny than needed

Jamie begley is an awesome author. Story line is great. Narrator of horrible. There was no emotions in her reading. She rushed through the whole book.
