Curvy, intelligent, and focused, Kyra Simmons has her eye on the prize. She's locked her sights on becoming the top technical engineer for the most prestigious space program back on Earth. That is, until her life and plans are turned upside down in an instant onboard a maintenance space station.
Stranded on the now failing space station, Kyra needs a miracle to survive. She has no idea that the 'foreign' astronauts who show up to rescue her are out of this world - literally.
Warrior Lord Tordin, Crown Prince of Olodia, knows he's outside of the mandates of the Intergalactic Alliance when he intercedes to rescue the survivors of the Earth space station. But there's something or someone pulling him in.
He's not prepared for what he finds in the unassuming Earth female. Try as he might to stay away, the pull grows stronger and stronger to be with her. His mission depends on his ability to stay focused and be prepared, but that's almost impossible with Kyra in his thoughts and dreams.
On the alien mother ship speeding away from Earth forever, Kyra's biggest problem is not getting back to Earth; it's how not to fall for this alien Warrior Lord whose the actual man of her dreams.
Can she find a way to realize her dreams of power and recognition now that she's been rescued by Tordin?

Books are the doors to other places. READ!!!!
I would recommend the story because the story line is pretty good. I would not recommend the audio book. The narrator was not that great. I do not wish to put down the narrator because i know doing this has to be a challenge. But i feel if she would work on a better deliverance of the characters voices it would make the audio book better.
I liked the humor and how accepting Kira was of her situation.
Maybe Amanda Ronconi the Half Moon Hollow books by Molly Harper. She brings out the wit in these books. I think she could do great job with this series.
Yeah. I could .
The story is pretty good but i enjoyed the story line. I did have a problem with listening due to the way the narrator presented the voices for the character but i am not going to take anything away from the story. I would like to listen to the next but if it is the same narrator i do not know if i can get through it.
Love listening to audiobooks, and being swept away by a great story and narrator. It's my therapy, and I need it daily!
The story itself wasn't all that bad. There's action, and a lot of witty dialogue, but I had a hard time getting past the narration on this story. I actually returned the book about halfway through, but one of my friends talked me into giving the story another shot because of the plot. The second time around....... I still could not finish this story. I picked up right where I left off, but only made it to the first sexual encounter. These scenes became embarrassing, and painful to listen to, I gave up.
Really, I wanted to like this story, as I am going through a Sci-Fi romance stage, and this book's description sounded good. If future stories are narrated differently or by another person, I would consider them, but would be very caution.
I normally do not leave reviews on stories I haven't completed, but as much time as I have invested in this story, I wanted to share my experience. Overall, I didn't hate the story, so I think it deserved at least three stars for a decent plot.
Listening to this book was a waste. I'm pretty sure the story is decent, but I actually had to stop the recording a few times to get over the "cliché gay" voices for the men and the "back country bitch" voices for the ladies. The narrator ruined this book for me.
Recommend, no! But if someone showed interest I would point them to reading the book rather than the audio version!
Her voice might be well suited for a performance where a man reads the counter parts and makes it sound somewhat more natural? I might give it a try, but I wouldn't pay for it until I'm convinced I'll finish listening to the story, rather than turn off the audio book half way through because I can't stand it anymore.
It's not the genre I would go to the movies for, so probably not.
My name is Irene and I'm a lifelong bookaholic. A few years ago, I started adding audiobooks and I'm so happy I joined Audible in 2015 :-))
I got a real kick out of this story-a kind of Buckaroo Bonzai meets Space Alien Romance. It's written with the same intellectual slant, along with some action, some romance. To add interest, the heroine is a woman of color who is portrayed with enough individualism spiced with her background that you can really enjoy her. Lusk does a decent job with Kyra, not so much with male characters.
maybe... i did enjoy the story , just not the narrator.
her female voice was fine it was the male voices that i just couldn't like.
her connection to her mate during the rescue
no i haven't.
adventures of Kyra
When read the missed reviews I wan't sure. But since the audio and kindle ebook were under $6.00 I knew it was a bargain. I really both characters and understood her insecurity while fining here way with drop dead gorgeous alien. The narrator did a good job! Looking forward to more and have purchased the ebook!
So the start of the book was good, I liked the leading lady she was cool and smart! But as the book went on she got less confident in patches then super woman in others... The ending is what got me it was to quick and all of a sudden she was connected with the goddess and had super powers
The voices drove me nuts she was super getto and he had a bad English accent!
I mean why do they always insist on over exaggerating colour woman's voices like that!
All in all I didn't hate the book but didn't love it, I wouldn't reread or recommend it
The story if full of action, hot sex and a good story line. Narrator did a good job wroth a credit on sale. This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”
Kyra, the female lead, ends up being a Space Damsel in Distress and requires the help of Tordin, the male lead.
The main characters are drawn together be a strong connection.
Kyra was a spit fire and Tordin was surprisingly sweet with a dash of protectiveness.
The beginning was a bit slow but it picked and had just about everything from having a Prince, Aliens, Action and Romance, making this book an overall entertaining read.
Audrey Lusk did well with the narration.
